Default Need things to open sooner...

I'm not talking restaurants,Bars, stadiums or anything remotely connected to our pleasure senses. I need the malls to open or at least the department stores. I'm in desperate need of practically everything clothing wise.

If they don't open soon I'll be forced to wear a mask but it wont be to cover my face.

I had read where if the store had it's own outside entrance it could reopen following at least the minimum guidelines but the mall closest to me is still closed. In fact the Sears store was recently demolished to make way for another fitness center. They already turned two major grocery stores into fitness centers.

Seriously? This is Colorado...A State know for bike riding, hiking, skiing and anything but sitting on your butt.

Open the darn malls. Might even give the husbands some much needed alone time while the wife is out for the day.

I need new clothes but I also have a hankering for a Cinnabon.

I tried to order some shoes on amazon. The first size was way to large, the second was still to large. Then I noticed the price went up. The third was out of stock.

I'd rather go to a store for shoes. They're kinda important to my general wellness.

I'm with coltle on this. I don't do malls except when traveling out of state but understand the attraction, variety under one roof and A/C for the power walking older crowd.

Not sure if trying on clothes will fall under the old "you break it, you bought it" if it doesn't fit.
Returns? What will the new normal bring us?

Doesn't say much for the quality of the clothes the OP bought if they are all trashed after 2.5 months of no stores.

For quite a while, I've looked on huge malls
as a dying breed. Some may last but
more. will fail as a percentage of the anchor
stores go out of business or switch to
the mail order mode.

Many more strip malls could well prosper
where specialty stores with custom
services are offered or have a single
anchor such as a Target or Walmart.

Notice how drug stores such as CVS
or Walgreen's insist on stand-alone
locations to avoid competing against
big grocery stores which offer some
pharmaceuticals.

Everything's open here. Limitations on occupancy, but they're open.

Most of my shirts come from Goodwill. Judging by the styles, some are forty years old. Most of my pants are transit operators’ uniform pants, dress slacks made of a heavy, durable polywool. They wear harder than Carhartts or jeans.

I have no need to shop at malls. Never been to Mall of America, and it’s just down the road.

If you wear stuff long enough, it can come in and out of fashion a couple of times in a lifetime.

Go to Minneapolis. Stores are open, wide open. Prices are very low, as in
free. The powers that be were interviewed last night as to why there was
no deterministic action taken against the rioters like they had announced
there would be. Sickening. Realize that individuals and small business
owners are NOT a priority.

Yesterday (Friday)The Rensselear county executive basically told our dictator governor to shove it. He said if we do not open soon many places will not open at all. He also said he (the Governor) troops cannot catch you all if a lot do it together!

I buy about 6 pairs of jeans every 6 months, a couple packages of pocket Ts, underwear and socks. Most of my shirts are the light canvas variety. I buy them 3 or 4 at a time when I find some that fit (4x long)on sale. Shoes. Mostly I wear Georgia Giant Romeos, I have about 6 pairs in various stages of wear. Always size 14 wides.

If I am going someplace decent, its the newer stuff, working around the house the part way messed up stuff to just about shot, depending on the work at hand. On the job, they provide me with fire resistant coveralls. I have a tote full of those and about 6 pairs of work boots. I do one job in an aluminum smelter, every year that provides me with a new pair of special boots. If I had to I could go a couple year before I was completely out.

Actually, it's a known scientific finding that
closets are the real culprits in shrinking
clothing. Don't blame the wife.

Luckily for us firearms owners, it's also a
known scientific fact that gun safes breed
more guns with a speed that would shame
rabbits.

Motorcyclists have been complaining about this problem for decades. Leathers don’t even go in the wash, yet they shriink to the point of unusability. A similar situation exists with Cordura riding gear. It can come out of the wash the same size, but hang it up for the winter, and it will shrink on the hanger.

They make clothing smaller each year too. I am certain I still have a 36 inch waist. But a 38 feels so good I wear a 42 now.

Our local mall opened up a week ago. Someone got shot yesterday afternoon in broad daylight outside the food court entrance. Things are getting back to normal.

Never liked malls, anyway.

I'm retired, so I wear jeans and t-shirts. A few fishing shirts by Columbia along with Wranglers and a few Carhartt flannel for the winter. Some sweatshirts and Hawaiian shirts. Old camo pants for working in the yard, painting, etc.But that's all. Buying from name brand and knowing my size, I get by with Amazon.

Try Sierra Trading Co. They handle closeouts, discontinued and seconds of many major brands, they usually have an especially good selection of Carhartt clothes much cheaper than malls or farm stores.

Well sort of..The one I remember was, if you try on a pair of pants, you don't poop in them so so can't take them back.

the only quality clothes i buy online are from l l bean.
once you know your size there you're set.
except now.
the lock down definitely expands one's waist line.

i'm like bear.
returning clothes online is just too much trouble so
i just donate clothes that don't fit.

Bought new running shoes at DSW this morning, in Minneapolis suburb. They had a big WE ARE OPEN sign out front and the doors were propped open.
