Now The Wait Begins!
Just submitted an ATF eForm 1 to make a SBR 10/22.
Now to wait for the cover letter to send my fingerprint cards in, then the real wait. Had my prints done today.
In 2011 I bought a silencer and had to wait 4 months. In 2012 I stamped a couple AR lowers to SBR's that took 5 months.
Been wanting to do a 10/22, but heard the wait times were 12 to 14 months...might be dead by then.
Then I heard about the eForm. Just Goggled wait times. Hope I get lucky.
What I found...
Form 1 wait times can be as few as a couple weeks in rare cases when filed electronically as a trust. Most Form 1 wait times are about 30 days, again when filed electronically. But these times can vary wildly depending on how efficient the ATF is.

The cover letter comes with acknowledgement of receipt of your submission, but if you’re using a tablet you can’t see it. You have to use a desktop or laptop. Ask me how I know this. I nearly missed the 10 day deadline for fingerprints thinking the letter was coming. In fact, I got it five minutes after I sent the form. My total wait time on a SBR AR-15 was about 30 days but half of that was on me ‘cause I was waiting for the letter.

I think the one that has the cover letter attached is headed as follows:
“eForms Application Submission Notification for Permit/Control No: xxxxxxxxx”
The cover letter is attached but you can’t see the attachment with a mobile device. Kinda strange since that’s what half the country uses. This should be the one that comes after the receipt for payment.

I filled mine out on a desk top PC. If I don't get it tomorrow, well actually today. I'll call the ATF and see whats up.
It would be ice cold CooL to get my stamp in a couple months max.

Last Thursday was the 7 month mark on a friend's silencer transfer, still no paperwork. In 1984 my paper work took 4 months. President Reagan had sped things up from 6 to 8 months!

If he bought it on a form 4 from a shop. the wait times are 12 to 14 months.
ATF Form 4 Wait Times
Right now, expect any form 4 application to take between about 250-370 days to process and an e-filed Form 1 to take about a month.

I would have just gone the pistol route and saved myself the wait and $200 bucks?
My SBR that's not an SBR.

Honestly...it's just for the CooL factor. I like stuff that's CooL.

From what i am seeing is wait times are all over the place, some people at a year and still waiting. My tax stamp on a form 4 took almost exactly six months. I need to get some copies of my prints and some photos to do an efile form 1 soon.

If the wait isn't too long for my SBR. I'm thinking about doing a eForm 1 suppressor for a 5.56. This company's stuff looks most impressive.
$550 including the stamp is a good price for a stainless 5.56 to 30 cal can.
Quietbore - Solvent Traps & Firearms Accessories
My 22 can is 100% stainless, 22's get dirty fast and the aluminum ones aint easy to clean. Mines a mono core, I just put the tube and core in a old glass Planters Peanut gar filled 50/50 with vinegar and peroxide. Let it sit out in the garage overnight, and rinse with water...looks like new. Do that to an aluminum one and there wont be much left come morning.

When I bought my Uzi from an out of State dealer, it took 2 1/2 months for the Form 3 to be approved. Then it took 10 months for the Form 4 to be approved so that I could bring it home.
