Default Are times THAT desperate?

I’ve been watching an auction site. (It’s closed Chad. I learned my lesson ) with 300 plus lots of firearms and related items.

Prices for the most part were not too terrible, esp for the times, given Covid 19 and social unrest. I would not have balked at the prices if there was something that I really wanted. But I’ve got my sights on something new.

HOWEVER, I saw a Dillion 550 reloader. Just the reloader, nothing else. OTD just a penny or two shy of a thousand dollars. I looked just now, they are $509 MSRP, with a setup for a caliber of your choice.

I realize you probably can’t find one right now, but really?!?!? Friend of mine said it most have been somebody bidding against their country club buddy. I’m really, just , well speechless.

It it really that bad???

I was looking at a Remington Tac 13 in late Feb early March on GB. They were running $750-800+. Now, if they can be found, they start at $1500+ or at least when I last looked.

I've seen some strange auctions where an auction that started at a penny no reserve go for over the price of the same item that could be found at lower buy-it-now price. Strange. Great for the seller, though!

There was an online auction in CA last week. Handguns were going for insane money. $400 for a Ruger LCP + 20% buyers' premium.

People get caught up in auctions, that’s why the keep having them.

If those bidding would take a step back and realize it was no longer a deal, auction houses would be out of business rather quickly.
