Default Pic of my Dad

I was visiting Mom today looking at some old pictures when I ran across this one.
Dad (on the left) served in the Army in Korea. One day he gets called up to wherever, because he has visitor.
Turns out it was his buddy George (right)from back home in McKeesport Pa. George was in the Marines and somehow found my Dads unit was nearby and sought him out.
Dad said it felt so good to see an old familiar face under the circumstances, half way around the world and all.
Can’t believe how young he looks. He was probably 21-22 in this pic.
I was 3-4 years in the future.
Thanks for indulging me.
I miss you Dad.

Although I know he knew how each other felt, I wish I’d have told him more.

Great old photo. Your dad looked a lot like Jerry Reed when he was young!

When my one aunt died, her son gave me her big photograph of my dad, his three brothers and me in the cabin at the fishing camp at Taggert Bay near Laniel, Quebec. It was probably taken in the 1990s, and was blown up into a big beautiful color picture. There is probably little question that we are all related. Pop and his youngest brother have passed on, but Pop's oldest brother lives a few blocks from me and we text or talk every day. It's nice to have a tangible reminder of all the fishing trips we had together.

Nice pic Acorn; you're lucky to have that! Lookit those baby faces. No wonder they call it the infantry.

Those of you who still have your dads around, count yourselves as lucky. My dad passed in 1987 at the age of 77, from cardio-pulmonary problems no doubt caused by the fact that he had been a heavy smoker since the age of 12 in Kentucky - when he often helped some of his relatives plant tobacco.

This is a shot of my dad and me when I look to be around four; he would have been around 33 at the time and had launched his career in banking from the bottom up as a teller in his early 20s. We passed his 110th birthday last April. I miss him a lot.

John

Tell them that you love them every time that see them or talk to them. When they are gone, it's too late and you will wish that you had. I know.

Great picture Acorn.
My dad has been gone for 11 years now.he was 94 when he passed.
My FIL is still with us at the age of 88. He served in Korea as an 18 year old kid as he says. Unfortunately, nobody has photos of him while he was serving.
