Default An unwanted surprise

My grandson took me to get a shot in my left eye today, the three month cycle. Went through all the stuff, got eye pictures taken and was put in a room to await the Doctor.

Lisa, my favorite nurse came in before the Doctor and started looking at the pictures. She showed me a small blood leakage on my right eye. When the Doctor came in they were carrying on a serious conversation. He sent me back for another set of pictures. Came back and Lisa told me the leak was there, no mistake. She left telling me that the Doctor would be back in a minute.

I was sitting there by my self, thinking two shots the same day is not going to be good. I was starting to feel a little sorry for myself and then the little brains that I have left took over. I am sitting here with a good Doctor close. Had it not been caught really early things could have been much worse. I lightened up, got shots in both eyes, and they didn't even hurt much. My friend and nurse Linda was very generous with the pain killer drops.

The bad part was going out in the bright sun even though I had dark glasses. I told my grandson i am not going to open my eyes, you hold my hand and lead me. Even though I kept my eyes closed all the way home, the first relief that I got was walking into my dark apartment. It is better now, the light bulbs just look like about a thousand watt bulbs. Tomorrow will be lots better.

Hang in there. Happy you are being as positive as possible. Not easy getting old as I am finding out myself.

You've got the right attitude when you can put a positive spin on things like that.

Hopefully today is going well!

Yes, hope things are better for you now. You’re wise - and tough - to be able to talk yourself into a better attitude. Believe me, I know it can be tough when it’s got to do with one’s eyesight. Steady on.

Graydon, I'm with you about aging eyes. Had both done a while back. New lenses take a bit of getting used to, for sure.

Thumbs up EYE SHOTS

Just went through a seores of several shots in my right eye. At first I was scared to hell about it. The Nurse was Great, as they always are and it all came out fine in the end. Got to stay positive.

Just found your post. Glad you have a good doctor. A good nurse is as good or even better. Do exactly and precisely as they tell you. God bless you. Sincerely. bruce.

Great attitude.

I am not your age, but I do have a few issues at almost 69. It bugs me that I either can't or struggle do all the stuff I once did with easy. I tire easily, I see the Dr more etc. But, then a lot of the people I have know don't get to do much at all. Some of them don't even-get to breath.

I am a lucky man. I can hear a morning dove calling outside my window as I type.

Been getting the shots in my left eye for about a year now, have never felt it but all the other stuff is as the OP says can't stand bright light for the rest of the day and if they don't get all the beta dyne washed out good I get the eye full of sand feeling for at least a day maybe a day and a half.
