We recently had a Black Bear come through our area in Western IL, first time in many years. Evidently was tracked from WI to IA, then swam the Mississippi to IL, then down the western edge of IL and swam the Mississippi again above St Louis. It had trouble crossing heavy traffic over Rt 70, and the Animal people caught it and transported to central Southern MO, where there are more Black Bears, and maybe a new lady friend for Bruno (the public named him).
