Default the USA has problems........

I just saw on the news were the 911 Flagpole was torn down
that honored the firemen that died in that attack.

I am just wondering where the spinning wheel dial will land next?

I saw that on the news this morning. It does make one wonder how and when all this is going to come to a well-deserved end.

That town is the home of many active and retired NYPD, FDNY and other uniformed services. I doubt it was someone from that town, maybe nearby Middletown.

This won’t ever end, they want you to shut up and yield to them, period. I’d rather be dead.

But, according to some, they’re just exercising their rights, one protest, one riot, one business burned, one street painted, one person assaulted, at a time.

"They" only have as much power as "we" give them.

Where are the hundreds, ney, thousands of ticked off folks with baseball bats saying not only "no", but "**** no", protecting these local business's and iconic monuments that are supposed to mean so much to us and our way of life?

Sometimes I feel we reap what we sow.

Complete insanity. Beyond that I better not say more or I'll get in trouble.

Memorial desecration is hardly new nor solely the province of the USA, or likely to end soon.

The jerks who cut down the flag pole then knocked down a sign at St. Mary's church and left the eagle from the top of pole there.

But according to the media, the protests are “mostly peaceful.”
Is that sort of like being “a little bit pregnant”?

I googled this since my news feed didn’t carry this story. Found a half dozen other reports of 911 memorial desecration’s going back to 2017. Apparently, this is not a new phenomenon. It still stinks......

At least if they’re emboldened to do these things, we’ll soon know who is who and what they stand for.
It’s already happening at an alarming rate and from places I wouldn’t have expected.
So there is that little silver lining to take from all this.
To defeat a foe, you first have to know who they are.
Take notes

Check out the National Bail Bond Fund Network and you will see that the protesters and rioters are well funded and have protective organizations and we have little in the way of organized opposition.
The police, our only real protection, are being defiled and hamstrung by all levels of government. They are our only protectors. Things will not change unless the average citizens speak out and show support.
Judicial Watch is the only group watching out for the average citizen that I am familiar with and they usally operate at national and state levels.

Mike IMO, it will continue to happen and probably get worse in the places where the elected officials don't have the "cajones" to stand up to the mob (& they are a mob.. they are not protesters when they commit these acts).

I fear that if this continues we will reach a tipping point and there will be a violent response from otherwise peaceful people.

The people who did this are liberals. They may go by other names, but they are liberals.

They are the same type who want our guns. They will never/have never compromised. When they talk compromise it is only getting part of what they want, right now. Their "compromise" has never given anyone else anything. Their actions always move things in their direction, never toward ours.

They will never give in.

They will never give up.

They see every movement to their will, no matter how small as a win.

WE (conservatives/gun owners) see things from left to right.

They see things from right to left.

We operate on logic and reason.

They operate solely on emotion and feelings.

The main thing to remember about these folks:

They will never give up.

They will never get enough, even when they have everything they will not be satisfied.

We will draw the line at what is right, and at what is moral.

They have no lines, its all about the outcome, their outcome.

Remember, its not about guns, statues, flags, building names, its about CONTROL.

The local city council (Madison, WI) is consider a resolution to prevent the police from using any "chemical weapons". Tear gas, pepper spray, smoke, etc. would be banned. I guess they think the police have too much power and want the rioters to have a better chance against the police.

No disrespect for the men in blue that we all know lost their lives on that day.
I was just reporting what the news story printed. Nothing more.

I an just getting out of the corner for being a bad boy, so I have to choose my words very carefully and not get anyone EXCITED !!!!
I had my fingers crossed with this thread.

All the places with riots, looting, arson, etc. have one thing in common. The group of people who run them.

Here is a link to an interesting letter from an ex cop in Columbus Ohio about what is happening. Those of you in LE may know others who could corroborate his position.

Hamilton County Prosecutor, Joe Deters, said this yesterday when asked about him filing felony charges against protesters:

"I will defend a person’s right to peacefully protest and always will. But, when individuals use that occasion to loot, attack our police and their equipment, and damage private and public property - I am done with them,” he said. “The charges today will not be reduced. They will not be dismissed. And that will apply as long as I’m your prosecutor"

Go get 'em, Joe.

When elected officials stand by and allow 'any' public property to be vandalized or destroyed, the only debate then is 'which' public property can be destroyed. Apparently, to some people, nothing is off-limits...

Near as I can tell, the phrase "mostly peaceful" in a news report means no police officers had to be hospitalized. These mobs have terrorized people; looted and burned businesses; and vandalized and destroyed public property...that isn't a "peaceful protest" in my book.

A few days ago, one of the media talking heads was advocating that the expression, "You Loot, We Shoot", banned as it was it was a "racist" comment. Perhaps I'm too much of a curmudgeon to see the relationship?

It often seems like the 1960s all over again. We are reaping what was sowed in the 1960s-drug use, irresponsibility and immaturity, selfishness and inconsiderateness, illegitimacy, welfare as a way of life, etc.

I think you hit the nail on the head there.

My parents came to the US from a communist country in Eastern Europe, in ~1970. Private ownership of guns was outlawed, and so was most private property. Social engineering was the order of the day, and history was rewritten to cast past national leaders, religious figures, and WWII war heroes as villains who exploited the people.

People who did not cooperate enthusiastically enough, including former supporters of the party were purged, driven out of jobs, or imprisoned. Humor in any form was basically outlawed unless it followed a party approved slapstick format. Political humor, even over drinks with friends, earned you a job loss at best, and a few years stay in an "educational camp" at worse.

Publishing reports of violent crime, vandalism, even sex crimes like rape and paedophilia, or even warning your neighbours was not allowed, because crimes like that did not officially exist in a "perfect society", and so if they were reported at all, they were called hooliganism. Reporting a party member for a crime in any form automatically led to being labeled as a reactionary and enemy of the people. Speaking up about anything, even the quality of food in a cafeteria often led to an automatic job loss or reassignment to manual labor. Former professionals, journalists, and teachers swept the streets and worked as farm labor and janitors.

Oh yeah, there was no alcoholism, drug use, or STDs, because those things are the result of systemic capitalist oppression...

...sound at all familiar? ROFL

ROFL

Glad to have you here.

I have been told I am overreacting but I just say be prepared for when the current situation that is mostly cold suddenly goes hot when people get fed up enough and you have a situation where too many on both sides are armed and something sets the situation off. The best example I can think of is if there had been equal numbers of equally armed people at the Stone Mountain Georgia March, a wrong word or move and everything blows up. I can easily see such an event happening.

I’m afraid it’s going to get worse before it gets better and I’m curious to see what happens in November ?

We expect the same and it to just get far worse. Between all the rioting, I mean protesting, calls to cut or eliminate police and then the election...SHTF time. Biden wins a run on everything related to firearms to stock up especially if a Democrat majority in both houses come about because expect everything under the sun proposed as bans and restrictions. I would expect at least a major and huge tax on ammo. And if Trump wins what we are seeing now will pail in comparison, just my prediction. Just going back a few months when it was just coronavirus I told SWMBO we were stocking up on factory ammo since you can trade with others back and forth from what you have a lot of to others who may have what you want to get, she just said go ahead because if nothing happens we are loaded up for a while. Nobody is likely to want to buy or swap for someone's hand loads or reloads without knowing the person and knowing they know what they are doing on loading. Stores here are mostly out of everything commonly used. I will check every couple of days the online ammo sites and just sticking with pistol ammo how low or out they are. You can find .25 ACP, .32 ACP, 10mm but if you look for calibers like .38 Special, 9mm, .357 Magnum they either have nothing, not even Tula, Wolf or Prvi Partizan, or very low stocks.

Right now the bottom feeders are in control and the gutless politicians are permitting this type of behavior because they want to appear on the side of " the people ". Nearly every major city on the USA has a liberal mayor thus also a liberal chief of police who will do anything to keep his job. If the bottom feeders get control of this country in 2021, it will only get much, much worse. Just my conservative opinion.

I'm more afraid of what is planned for October. The results will cause the President to declare martial law. What do you think the outcome of the the election will be when the voting is occuring while martial law is enforce?

I don’t want this to turn political and get shut down, but with things happening the way they have been I really think we’re looking at some rough times ahead!
People are just getting fed up with everything in general..

Actually, the first time that I saw “You Loot, We Shoot “ is when we were working Alpha/ Bravo after Hurricane Andrew in 1992. The slogan was hand painted on the sides/ front of Houses that had been in the path of the storm, and in addition to Looting of the main shopping center/ mall in S. Dade, and all the retail stores, Private Homes were next... No one had electricity, No alarms/ video surveillance, etc.
Nights became a “Free Fire Zone”, gunshots until dawn...People/ Neighbors banded together to protect themselves and their property. No cell service back than, what little there was, Towers were downed by the Storm, along with ALL. The street signs, Traffic signals, etc. Concrete Utility poles were snapped in half, lying in the road.

One of the higher profile shootings was when a Homeowner, returning to his Home with his insurance adjuster, observed a Van, (stolen) with 2 subjects inside and another subject exiting his Home. He immediately engaged the subject and shot him with a .44 Magnum.
(don’t know if it was an S&W) Subject was DRT and the other two fled, leaving the Van behind. No charges were filed.

We had to check Structures and make sure no one was trapped/ injured or deceased... In some of the houses, in Saga Bay, the water line inside was as high as 4 feet on the walls.

The propaganda media is,as usual wrong..The thin Blue Line is all that stands between civilized society and chaos...

Most people are in the silent majority, just like us. The media/propaganda wants us to believe other wise.
Many similarities to pre Nazi Germany going on here. Add them to your list of enemies.

All politics is at least partially local. The pressure being put on local officials to defund the police and DA's offices etc. is enormous, and not random. It's a nationwide and organized effort, and the goal seems to be to give the money to this "community group". Basically they are asking to be paid from public funds, and there is little opposition from other local groups. Not like they are keeping their goals secret, you can read about it in their own words:

Opinion | '''Defund the Police,''' '''Cancel Rent''': The Left Remakes the World - The New York Times

Defund the Police: a 4-day Crash Course

The only way to counter that would be for people who want to keep their police protection to organize also, and let their local officials know how they feel about that. You can't fight a radical political movement with watercannon and wheelguns, that's just playing into their hands (In my opinion).

It's disappointing that Americans have tolerated as much as they have in the past 6 months with so little pushing back.

I have no doubt that support will increase as things continue to go South. Although police get most of the wrath it is also all first responders who deserve our support. Firefighters, EMT they are all lumped together as part of the system. We support all of them. Your house burning down the fire truck that shows up to put out the fire and render aid, you don't treat them like invaders.

People have no idea how dangerous, imo, those behind this “remaking” are.

I saw it used in Mississippi in 1969 after Hurricane Camille hit the Gulf Coast.
The devastation was near total in most areas of coastal Mississippi.
The Governor put the National Guard in very quickly and that stopped most of the looting.
