Default Range Today

Did my usual and went to the range this morning. Notice a distinct lack of shooters. Talked to the range officers and they said that the shooters have been getting less and less lately. They think it is because ammo is getting sparse in a lot of shops and stores. They have further stated most of the shooters that they are seeing are the reloaders. is the same true in your areas?

Yup! The ammo shortage is getting serious. Even reloaders are having issues finding powder, primers, and bullets.

Too hot to go here, unless you get there about 7 am, and outta there by 9-10 am or so. The humidity and temps are vicious in August in Dixie.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

It is 91 here and the "Feels Like" temp is 102. We usually shoot from 0900 to 1100. We are on the middle east coast of Florida.

I got to mine about 8 yesterday morning and was the only one there until I was getting ready to leave and 2 more cars showed up. It has been cool in the midwest this week, but we are going back into the 90's.

I was shooting reloads except for a few .22's.

Per my usual routine I was down Monday, Wednesday and today. Today we were swamped, only members and immediate family allowed. Must have signed up two or three families, lots of kids. Its good to see but up to a point, we can only support so many and are getting close to 1500 active shooters, some of those are trap shooters and indoor range types, I hang out at the North end were we shoot under cover but out of doors, except the 200 where its open to the weather. It was beautiful today after a few days at 100, it was down to the high 70's which is perfect for me. One of the guys said it went down to 48 at his house, fall is just around the corner.

Thumbs up AT THE RANGE

Finally got out today, late 1530 -- no one there. All the range lizards and their 22's were gone. Spent an hour or so testing my new to me Victory --- More than pleased with the results. Sure made me look good and my handholds but no one there to see. The below photo pretty much says it for me. All the paper plates looked pretty much like this or better. Got a real gem here.

I've kinda seen the opposite at the range I belong to; lots of new shooters or people with new guns. Not a lot of practicing, but instead, a good bit of function testing- get something new in, run a few rounds through to be sure it's good.
Range owners say that's been the case for a few months. Barely seeing the regulars and members, but getting tons of walk in business with new guns.

Fully admit I've got a good stash of ammo, but not a reloader, and I'm doing the same thing right now. I've added a couple rifles to the mix, and I've run them enough to confirm function with the ammo I have. And once I'm comfortable it will run, I clean and stash them.

I did put about 100 rds through a couple pistols today, it's been awhile and I wanted to be sure I had some time in.
