You need to get online.
Comcast in person here and probably everywhere is worse than MVD x Post Office Squared.

Unfortunately, I don't think it would be any better with another provider. I really believe they are all bad and they don't care if one switches.

ATT is stone age compared to Comcast. I have ATT and it stinks!!! When I see an ATT repair truck in the neighborhood I cringe because 60% of the time they're around here my service goes down 10 mins. later. You call ATT about the outage and it takes 5 days for a repair person to show up. When my router dies I'm going to Comcast. Around here ATT runs DSL on the old phone twisted pair. They made a big deal about running fiber optic about 6 yrs ago and it never transpired. They ran all the lines under ground and never hooked them up.

Our Comcast goes down many times almost every day. Sometimes it come back on in a minute or so and other times I must unplug the modem and wait for it to restart. Called many times - waited - and they "resend the signal". This worked for only a short time. Went to the local Comcast store and they scheduled an appointment for someone to come out to fix it. No one came and then I was told they only go out to homes with no service at all. If you have any service, they think you should just put up with it. They are blaming Covid for their lack of response to intermittent system down time. ARG!

For TV, you could try Directv satellite service. Plus: Great picture, rarely down due to technical issues. Minus: You can lose service temporarily in a heavy rain storm. Worse, they charge you for stuff you don't want and never ask for. I've spent several hours on the phone this year getting them to remove charges for equipment that I've never possessed, and trying to get an unwanted extra-charge Major League Baseball package off of my bill. The customer service people always say they'll do it, but it usually doesn't get done.

Bottom line, if you want to watch excellent quality TV pictures that are rarely disrupted by technical issues, go with Directv. Just be prepared to pay/dispute whatever unasked-for charges they randomly add on to your bill.

I think The Analyst said it best: They are all bad...

If Musk gets Starlink working reliably, he is going to kill the cable companies.

Right now there are something like 700K people who are interested in signing up for the service or to be a beta tester.

They are almost at the point where they have enough satellites in orbit to start testing out the coverage for the ground terminals.

I haven't had to sall Spectrum for anything but that isn't to say it wont happen in the near future. My picture pixelates a lot on a few certain channels and last night Insp went completely out but it was back on this A. M. Unfortunately they are the only choice around here for cable.

I have DirecTV too. Great service, but you have to call and threaten to cancel your account every year when your discounts expire. Also I HATE having to talk to an Indian call center. The local cable company is based in Carbondale, and the CC is locally based. I might change my landline and internet since Verizon is awful, service drops off after a heavy rain (underground utilities). So I'm sure that by Wednesday my internet and landline will be kaput. But I am happy with DirecTV for the most part.

This pretty much mirrors my experience with DirecTV. I went to them from Comcast because I didn't like the response I got from Comcast about how their "new" digital service set my service back 30 years because I couldn't tape one channel while watching another.

If you are trying to request a real person by voice on their phone system use the term REP-RE-SEN-TA-TIVE, not agent. This works on all the systems I have used it on.

I am glad this topic came up because I am DISGUSTED with Comcast and their lack of customer service. RANT ON!

We have Comcast/Xfinity only because they have no competition in our area. They closed down their only service center in our major metro area (permanently, not just for the pandemic) and now the nearest service center or retail stores are at least an hour and a half away either north or south of us. How can they justify closing down anything in a major city while keeping open locations that are essentially in the sticks?

But wait, even the listed locations are all closed due to the pandemic so you must do everything online. I recently broke the one remote that would work with our set-top box and there was only a very small, hard-to-find reference on their website saying I could order a replacement online - only there was NO WAY to order one online!

They have NO human customer service reps (even offshore) and their automated chat-bot on their site is useless. By the time I wasted an entire afternoon just trying to replace a single remote control - and FAILING MISERABLY - I actually had to turn to eBay to buy a replacement.

The rub is their services work well and our bundle of home phone, internet and TV is very reliable and costs less that anything I could piece together otherwise, but their miserable customer service still has me hoping for alternative to appear one day.

Thanks for letting me vent! Rant Off...

Comcast has been a thorn in my side for close to 15 years! Used to go out every time it rained. I think they finally got that fixed. In the early years it was something every other day. Back then they had some good people in the field, but a phone conversation left me with a headache and high blood pressure.

They actually came out and rewired my whole house, from the attic & basement, there were 3 to 4 guys there for nearly 4 days. And it got better, for a while, then the service coming to the house was jacked up. They rewired it from the road to my house twice over the years, and I'm a good 450 yards from the road!

About the time they got their wires uncrossed, they decided to go digital, and we got all new equipment,..............Here we go again!

Now that it's finally pretty smooth sailing, again, and they no longer give me credits for their ****** service, they have up and raised their prices! Now I've got 1 main box (DVR in LR), it's little offshoot box in the MBR, and one small box in the guest BR, and I'm being charged $250 bucks a month! I don't have any premium channels or Sports channels either.

I'm going to get a few Roku or Firesticks (no smart TVs) and a digital antenna, then I'm cutting out everything COMCAST except the internet service. I think I can get everything my wife watches (& more) for less than $100 bucks a month. So long Comcast! You've taken years off my life fighting with you & your offshore customer service jockeys, and I'm done with it!

Been with Comcast when they were the only game in town, never left, has to be more than forty years. My cousin worked for them on large scale developments, he showed me how to unsolder a ground wire in order to have unlimited viewing. We had that system until it went digital.
Comcast locally has only one store, we were there a while back getting our first cell phones. They were limiting the number of people and everyone was masked. One of the tricks we learned a few years back is that if you are having problems with your picture, etc. Do not wait until after noon to take care of it, call in the morning and you will most likely get an American speaking American English, after noon it will be someone from India who I have trouble understanding unless they will slow down and speak clearly...I have the same problem with my granddaughters, and I ain't hard of hearing.

C/S is the very reason I left Dish TV. I am now paying less for Internet, Phone, & T.V. than I was for just T.V with dish. so far C/S has been fairly good with Spectrum. What I do not like is that every year they jack their prices and they are forever trying to get me to switch my cell service to them and, that aint happening as long as I continue to get good service with Straight Talk.

Every year for decades I have made the yearly pilgrimage down to the Comcast store to get a break on the rising prices. Every year I get just about the same response, they get me to commit to a full year of subscription and in return the knock my bill down to what I consider acceptable. I have threatened to switch to something else and I'm their records indicate such, they smile and crunch some numbers coming back with something we can both agree with. If your not happy with something you need to complain about it, or switch to something else or go back to banging on drums for entertainment whatever.

Customer service is the reason I kicked Cox to the kerb for TV. After they screwed up a visit to my house (my address, but neighbor's name on form ) they seemed to think that our time off worked around their business model and work schedule. Guess again.

Years ago, I had Comcast installation "techs" come to the house 5 times to install stuff, and none of them even knew how to secure cable to a wall. They'd leave it lying on the floor or the lawn. One didn't have a masonry bit - he didn't know what that was - and another had a dead drill battery with no spare or charger.

I'm with Verizon now, not thrilled at what we get for the money, but their field service techs so far have had some idea what they are doing.
Now customer service via phone - gggrrrrrr - endless robo menus.
Online - everything steers you to the sales page and service info is in small print at the bottom.

I miss pre Judge Green AT&T. It always worked and their people were competent.
