Hurricane Isaias
Looks like Fla got spared another one. The storm is due east of Palm Beach and the bad stuff is off shore. I'm on the boarder of St Lucie and Martin counties. The storm degraded to a tropical storm but probably will gain as it goes north.
The roofers dropped off some felt rolls and a bucket of bull along with nails, flashing and a couple of roof vents Monday. I can't believe the flashing and roof vents haven't blown down yet.
I like having the shutters on my bedroom windows. It stays nice and cool in there as my windows pick up the morning sun and turn my bed into a tanning bed. They'll stay up for the rest of the season but the front shutters will come down asap.
Who's next?

The storm's name was so unusual, I looked it up. With all the craziness in the world today, I guess it's fitting that the storm is named after the "the prophet" Isaiah.

The last storm was Hannah otherwise I wouldn't have know which side of the fence ee-sah-EE-as stood.
Buttoned the place up for a strong Cat 1 Friday evening, got a few wet sloppy kisses at work and after on Sat. then basically nothing although the center passed about 40 miles east overnight. Gonna deal with the hot soup dragged along for the next 2 days but I'm a happy boy.
Seems the window for strengthening has passed but looking for some slop for my neighbors to the north.

Pretty much another day in "Paradise", Rain, wind, HEAT HUMIDITY!
The weather people are so disappointed, they were already getting folks freaked out, The usual Bimbo standing on the beach with a frilly shirt so you could see the breeze and a Palm tee frond blowing,
Pretty much a NON EVENT (which of course is good) Just a storm.

I spent a lot of time in that area as a kid!
I remember all the orange groves and undeveloped land! I remember when Port St lucie didnt have a bank or grocery store.
Many memories on Jensen beach.
Just the other day I was looking at areas via google maps, most every place I knew of is gone or changed.
Anyhow here in costal CT we are supposed to get it too but now its supposed to be a rain event and we need rain.

Then comes the six months where everyone wishes they were here.

It's always hot and steamy after the storms. I'm happy too, I have a good AC and no problems with electric.

Always better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it....Water, Food, Ammo, Fuel/oil for the Generator..A 5k Gen. will run a small Window A/C on 110V....Once the Shutters are up, they stay there till the end of Hurricane season...The Forecasters are the only People that are frequently wrong and still get paid. .. ..2016, Cat 5 Storm coming at us...Forecasters calling for mass evacuation.....My Daughter insisted we Leave rather than ride it out......Never again will evacuate.... only damage we had was some branches down...and w/o power for 2 days...Bumper to bumper Traffic that was at a standstill several times....The Rest areas were like 3rd world countries....People living in tents/campers...Kids running thu Parking area, Access road, etc.

I was going to the hardware store for a unrelated repair item. People pouring out of the store with bottled water, and other storm related items.
I don’t get it. These things don’t sneak up on you. The state even waives sales tax on storm related items early in the summer to encourage people to buy ahead. Nimrods!

Just waiting around to see what happens when it gets this far up Tuesday. It's predicted to just about run over the top of us so we can just hope it's weakened enough to not cause any major damage. Waiting around is one of the worst parts.

We're supposed to get 2+ inches of rain in my part of NEPA, but we could use it, provided it's not damaging downpours. We'll see what happens.

LOL and I'm driving to Norfolk to see the Kid this week. They did move the boat from Norfolk to Newport News due to the storm.
Probably should take the Suburban rather than the Trailblazer.
