Even better, quit buying the merchandise. Jerseys, mugs, t-shirts, sneakers and every other trinket with their logos on it.

I wonder how the team owners are going to be able to pay their field hands when the fans, and eventually the advertisers, stop supporting their acts. It would be so refreshing to see some owners loose their investments.

I'll go one step further. Why does the Bureau of Land Management need their own Anthem anyway??? ??? Next thing you know the FBI is gonna co-opt "BadBoys" as their Anthem. Where will this madness stop

Even for sports fans, why would anyone with half a brain pay triple the price (or more) for any of those items just because it has some team's insignia on it?

They'll be reduced to a "nostalgia" TV channel, playing reruns of past games.

Lived in England for several years when Dad was stationed there. Went to see "Dr. Doolittle" at Marble Arch in London with my parents. Most of the time, my brother and I went to movies by ourselves.
Before the flick played, the first notes of "God Save the Queen" began, all rose to their feet, and most were singing. I started, as I often did, to start singing 'My Country, 'Tis of Thee..." in my squeaky 11 year old voice, until my Mother, who is English (but a naturalized US Citizen), clapped me on the ear.

I can only pray this decreases the unjustified popularity and windfall profits of sport monopolies.

It won't. Sports are ingrained in our society. I don't begrudge them. I just don't want to finance them. They make what the market will bare.

If it weren't for professional sports, we'd have some of the world's tallest and strongest laborers and fast food workers.

Never really had interest in the NFL and NASCAR went out the window a long long time ago.
The only thing I watch at times is drag racing, golf and hockey. There hast been too much done around them.
I wasn’t too happy when the Flyers dropped Kate Smith and God Bless America so the Penguins became my favored PA team. Flyers haven’t been that good since the Broad Street Bully days anyway.
So far they haven’t messed with golf and drag racing.....but give them time!

My wife and I are/ were big football fans , especially me all my life. The last couple years we are just getting tired of all the distractions, more about the misconduct than football. Oh and guys trying to get by on a few million yearly and constantly complaining. You know since 1998 players receive 5640. per month , for each year they played. So a poor guy who only plays 3 years, has to try and get by on 16,000+ a month once he reaches retirement. He can rob banks and sell drugs until then. Last year we about quit, dropped DTV football, didnt miss it. Games I did watch, I would get so mad at the start of the game, I couldnt enjoy it. Isnt that what its about anyway. We have decided no football for us, kinda enlightening, now I will have another afternoon to shoot, fish, hunt go around. Of course Im retired, so usually rather do that stuff on weekdays. But Im sure something will come up. Of course we are big rodeo fans , NO kneeling there, or you would probably stay down...
I had to edit this, There is ALOT of kneeling at rodeos, BUT its the kind we all probably need to do more of !!!!

I think they need to update player stats.
Yards, TDs, Kneels, Rushing, etc
The we can all oh and ah, wow, 16 kneels last season, hes the best kneeler on the team.
Maybe they can start selling player knee pads, logo and number.
Clown world, were here.

Just one more nail in the coffin. Professional sports figures have sunk to the level of entertainment figures and I have very little use for entertainment figures as I cannot respect anyone that has to pretend to be someone else for a living.

In recent years Hollyweird has found films with a liberal slant-"Selma", e.g., have done OK, while films that are truly "patriotic"-"American Sniper", e.g-are blockbusters.
Not a sports fan, but I am a consumer. My observation is private companies are much more sensitive to public opinion than government.
