NE Ohio Bunch Fall 2020 Meeting- pictures added
If you have been wanting to attend our Bunch, this is the time to come. Share the ride with another S&W enthusiast.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
Here is the date for fall Meeting, summer is again going fast. Mark *Saturday October 24th* from 8-9am to 3 pm* on the calendar. The gun club we meet at is North Olmsted Sportsman club, 5743 Bradley rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
Directions, take the Stearns-Crocker exit off I-480 and go north. The first red light is Lorain rd, turn left. Go ABOUT a mile to Barton rd, turn right. The first stop sign is Bradley rd, turn right. The club is about 100 yards on the right. Tan building with a big gravel parking lot and a trap field.
Admission is 5.00 and Bring a “plate of food to share”, enough fo 10-15 people. Be creative so we eat good food like we always do. I provide all the plates, bowls, napkins, toothpicks and plastic ware. Full kitchen cooking facility is available, oven, grittle, microwave and stove. Bring a friend if he likes S&W’s to share a ride. ***We need more main dishes and sides ***
Bring your favorite S&W’s to display. Guns, boxes and accessories can be brought to sell but not a **WHOLE TABLE FULL of GUNS**. This is not a gun show. Limit the guns you want to sell to 4. There are 20 8 ft tables available, first come first serve. If needed, we can crunch together. *BRING a COMFORTABLE lawn chair for sitting*, the club chairs are hard plastic.
Security, while *talking* watch what is going on, if someone picks something up make sure he doesn’t walk out the door with it. Let me know and I will confront him. Nothing has been stolen in 11 years. *Concealed carry* is allowed but KEEP the gun *in its holster*. There is a unloading board on the wall if you need to unload it to show someone your gun. Don’t unload by your table, unsafe. CLUB RULE
HOTELS, at exit 6a & 6b off of I-480, there are a bunch of hotels. This is one exit from where we meet, not real far. There are plenty of restaurants here also. You will have to choose your own place, this is a *safe area* to stay.
Hope we get some new members, 2 months away but will go fast.
This is scheduled late October because of the VIRUS. As it gets closer we will follow what ever is needed according to the club. Masks may be required so plan on bringing one in case. Stay safe, Larry

On the calendar.
Don't anticipate having anything for display BUT Berea show upcoming. I'll bring S&W pistol magazines and the reloading components left over from the thread I had for the last 'bunch' cancelled. And the components that 'old cop' asked me to hold for the next bunch. And hostas for anyone that wants some.
And masks.

Will probably not attend this one as we will be moving into our new home and will be busy. If things ease up, I'll try and make it.

As much as I like seeing everybody and sharing a tray of stuffed mushrooms, I am a little hesitant to come up and be in a rather small room because I have so many risk enhancements.

Larry,
I’m checking my “Army schedule”. I will be transferring Companies/Units during this time so I have 2 schedules to contend with! Ugh.......
Wish me luck,

I plan to be there, should I wear an old MOPP suit, or bring it just in case?

Hope it’s a good weekend to attend for most of us. Seeing that the virus is keeping a lot of people from doing things but October is the start of influenzas season. Hope the military is good to Bob and his weekend will be free. Will email the president to help him out. My hostas are doing good, if anyone wants some ask Oldman10mm. Been a year since the last bunch, hope everyone spent some money on new guns to display. Matt will send out the mass email soon, about 200 people are on it. Larry

Driswalds, hope you can make it. What part of Ohio do you live? Everyone let me know when you get the email from Matt.
We lost another person from the Bunch. Ed Belke passed away early May. He and Dave usually sat by the fireplace. Ed & Dave were always together. Ed worked at Cabelas and later at Fin Feather Fur. Ed was a SWCA member. Larry

Went to FFF this afternoon, got there about 2:45. 2 pathways to go into the store, one pathway for those to go to the firearms counters and the other for non-firearm general purchasing. Firearm pathway had about 1/2 dozen people waiting and as 1 person exited carrying a weapon purchase, 1 person was allowed to go in. I wanted to go to the firearms counter to check a price so that would be for next time. I went in store regular pathway, no waiting.
Next thing on the agenda was to look at cargo shorts, WRONG, fall cool weather was on racks, warm weather stuff was already removed to storage.
Next was look at components. Powder, brass, bullets seemed fine, primers NO NO NO. Very small selection of large pistol and large rifle primers and ZERO stock of small pistol and small rifle primers. Couple months back I had primers available in that 'components for bunch' thread and had no takers.
Next was the 12ga ammo that was on sale from their e-mail notice. Picked up 4 boxes of Browning 2 3/4" 25rds per box @ $6 per box. There was no limit on those, 4 boxes was heavy enough.
The Berea gun show is in a few days just down the road so sat & sun at FFF should be busy/hectic as it normally is when the Berea show is happening. I'll be taking primers to Berea for potential sales from the car. I remember the AR frenzy of 2008 and 2012 where AR magazines were being sold for $75-90 each in the parking lot.

Good to be back at a gun show again, it was crowded at first. No Anschutz .22 LR bolt but there was a .22 mag. Nice to run into some of the Bunch members. Watched the tables for 1911 parts and 9mm bullets, none. Larry

I was there 10:15-2:15, for a Berea show that we haven't seen for 7 months and with the current 'frenzy', I didn't think it was crowded at all. Found no firearms to buy, I was looking. Picked up many S&W pistol magazines.
What kind of 9mm bullets/pricing were you looking for Larry ?
Kendall Ordnance(building by Eastlland Rd parking lot) had what looked to be a good supply/variety of 9mm bullets.
I'm going back tomorrow.

Was looking for partial boxes of hollow points from estates on the regular tables, not the reloading suppliers. Figured I could get them way cheaper then new ones, Larry

Talk to JR he knows about them. They get good money for a lot of their items. Lots of high-end consignment guns and from what I’m hearing customers are pleased with the results.

Keystone is just north of Edinboro, a nice shop with a strong military influence. They have a high end shop/range in the area of Cranberry too.

Give them time. Event is still 7 weeks away. Covid restrictions could return, we still have to see how all that plays out in Ohio and neighboring states that potentially won't allow travel across state lines.
I anticipate about half of normal attendance with a few 'newbies'.

I will do my best and make every effort to attend. Hopefully my brother will be there as well. I have been keeping close to home since my heart surgery back in February. Just passed the six month mark without my defibrillator firing. According to my cardiologist, that is a bit of a milestone. Hope to see you all again soon.

Bill, glad to hear you are doing good. Hi you go to your dads house and have time, stop over. Dave, with the girls in the kitchen there could be problems in the room. I think I could use the defibrillator on the wall if anyone needs it. Larry

Irregardless we will have a nice time like always.Lots of nice S&W`s and good friends to boot.

Up for another look, anyone remotely close want to have fun on the 24th of October? The flu season will join the present virus for our meeting so kinda a double whammy. I will be there no matter what is floating through the air, Larry

To the top. How's all the 'bunchers' doing ? Any stories to tell that would've been told at the cancelled spring 'bunch'. From me it's only no rollercoasters this year, surprising that there were no 'withdrawal' symptoms during the season that are always felt off-season from November - April. BUT withdrawal symptoms were high and strong for the lack of gun shows, finally Mansfield and Berea chased those away.
I'm oldman10mm and I approve this post. In theme with all the TV political commercials playing nowadays.

Denny you’re a trooper. Just wondering if anyone bought something to display in October. Bought a 2 1/2” model 19 and a 14-7. Will put the 14-7 with a Manurhin mr73 and a model 17 with a Korth for people to pick up and compare. Larry

For me, I don't foresee any purchases, but Akron in two weeks, then in four weeks maybe a 'not-cancelled' Medina, then Mansfield a week before the 'bunch'. Only watch for 'nickeled' and 3" 36s'/37s' and A-list.

What would some of that stuff in the linked thread be selling for ? As an old ammo collector myself, I'm always watching for old stuff. I watch for Norma handgun ammo ( been a long time since they manufactured handgun ammo) and the old SuperVel ammo. Also watch for 70s' era 357M 41M 44M as back then it was much more 'potent'.
Akron show in 2 weeks, what should that very old 357M (pre-war) be going for ?

I’m not really that familiar with current prices but if I was going to have to come up with a price I would say $200 and up depending on box condition and whether or not it’s a complete box etc. I drug my feet on a complete box of Winchester Listed on GB a couple months ago it had a $250 buy it now and by the time I made up my mind somebody else bought it. Would be a nice addition if you have a Registered magnum.

Swage, join us. Are you retired? Dave, would love to see your registered magnum. This group started with the idea of showing your favorite S&W. Larry

As George Carlin use to say "I've got too much STUFF".
Three houses, five cars, four ATVs and a RZR.... get the picture!
One son is out of college and leaving the area..... and we are looking to leave our "Burb of the Burgh" for the lake in the Laurel Highlands.......
Time to start downsizing..... and clean out stuff that's not getting used..........including some "Safe Queens"...... like to see some of the Smiths find a good home...........
Decided it's time to move the 6 1/2" Register Magnum on to a new home.....It's been to 2 or 3 of the Bunchings over the past 6 years so most have seen it.
While the original grips are missing the gun is otherwise 99%..... with no bark stag grips and stag T-grip adaptor.
Also the 6" K-.22 Masterpiece Dates to 1957 but not Model marked (Pre 17)....... as new in box but no box
Target grips.
Will be bring them both so if you're interested.....plan ahead.
