Exclamation Oh my that USPS!

No one cares as it's not a vent!
Ordered 2 items from Wal Mart.com (vendors)

One from Texas ordered 8/26, shipped 8/27 arrived 9/4
One from Cal ordered 8/31. Arrived 9/15

Another company in Yonkers NY (not WM)
Ordered 9/7 shipped 9/9 ,received 9/14

All regular 1st class mail.

Got another order coming shipped 9/13 just chomping at the bit waiting to see if it makes it.

Yep, USPS is just terrible.

In our area USPS packages are usually early.
From what I can tell the USPS on the east coast is slow.

So in other words not all of USPS is bad.

My mom mailed me some pictures in a card style envelope on August 24th from Fairfield Ohio...little north of Cinti. I got it yesterday.

Not really I have been totally happy with USPS for ever, Never had an issue.

My Mail Lady is outstanding and has been at her job for a LONG time,

When I get shipment of 4K bullets in one Flat Rate box, She kids me and says "You got bullets" I have her back her Jeep up to my garage and open the package in the Jeep and take out the boxes one at at a time. She is a riot to chat with.

The delivery times I posted, I thought were excellent for items that cost less than $20.

The USPS is a quasi Govt agency, they have ideas on how to do things but have their strings pulled by others.
Like I said before in other threads, all people Whine about are the few things that got screwed up, not the billions of things that go right as scheduled.
Of course some nameless, snarky, immature individual has to rate the thread a 1* like it matters.

Very much like the USPS. Could not get a company to do what they do all across the board coast to coast. Sincerely. bruce.

Recieved a rifle stock yesterday. It was shipped Saturday from Missouri. Seriously. Saturday to Monday. Stuff moving up and down the west coast is pretty fast. Once you get far enough east, thing turn to ****.

I had a item shipped from RI on Monday with a scheduled delivery day of Friday or Saturday, I forget which.

Looked up the tracking # a few minutes ago, it is scheduled to be delivered today.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Yep. I'm still waiting for the new S&WForum Postal Service, which never loses a letter or package, never misses an estimated delivery time, and does it all for less cost than the USPS. I suspect it will be a long wait...

I usually have good service from USPS, but they have taken from 7-10 days to deliver ‘priority’ shipments to and from me lately.

One shipment came as close as Ohio, before being re-dispatched for another pass at the east coast. Still waiting.

Another was sent to post office one county over, then sent back to sender. It’s now [allegedly] on way back to me.

Another has an update of “MISSENT” and no other updates. Great.

This is all in the last month, rarely had ANY complaints prior to August of this year. Maybe it was my turn ?

A month or so ago I was getting all my packages very late. Recently they've been arriving a day earlier than the tracking info says.

Not losing it, but probably squandering it away. From my time in Gov't., there were too many incompetent and idiotic managers. I spent several millions dollars having some equipment built and put on the shelf for future use. A new manager arrived at the office and had all of the equipment destroyed because "he didn't think we needed it and it hadn't been used in 2 years."

The regular mail carrier does a good job but he only works 4 days a week. We have one of 3 replacements that work Friday and Saturday. One of the replacements I call "Repeat" behind her back. She will circle our neighborhood 2 or 3 times getting the mail in the right boxes. This past Saturday I watched her stop at my box 4 times and put nothing in. I found mail in it the next morning. I missed one of her stops. She handles most of the Friday/Saturday deliveries.

Another always co-mingles the mail with my neighbors mail. It is a small neighborhood and we each usually walk it over. My wife keeps a calendar of the due dates for our utilities and other bills. I am averaging one lost bill per month. This month it was the Visa bill. I paid that with a funds transfer the day it was due. If possible, all on-line orders will have a Mon-Thur delivery date. I have requested that in the notes when ordering things.

Do you think I trust any mail in absentee or mail-in ballots?

It’s no mystery. Recently, DeJoy has been collecting and disabling sorting machines. He’s also removed a ton of drop boxes. All of this is being done to cast doubt on the legitimacy of mail-in voting.
It used to take a day for mail to reach my mom in Colorado Springs. Last birthday card I sent her in August took 8 days to get there.
We’ve had mail-in voting for years and never a problem, but this year I’ll walk my ballot to the ballot box.
