Lakeland gun show *Gun Show Report Added*
Any other Florida members going to the Lakeland Rifle & Pistol Club gun show over the weekend? I’m going tomorrow and hoping to meet up with at least one other forum member. Last show in January was pretty good. Hoping to find something that piques my interest.

I met up with with Erik and Mike for breakfast, then we headed over to the show. We got there just after 9 and there was already a long line of people waiting to get in. They were limiting the number of people inside, so for every person that came out, one was granted entrance. Since we got there soon after opening, the wait was only 15 minutes. Joe showed up a bit later and had a considerably longer wait. By the time we came out, I heard someone say the wait was up to 1.5 hours from the end of the line! As it got hotter, the wait got longer.
Masks and social distancing were required, but not really enforced, as just about everyone had their mask under their nose and many had them pulled down under their chin. They only had one exhibit hall open, as opposed to two during the January show. Tables were not spread out as I expected them to be and aisles were crowded. Social distancing was non existent, but everyone was polite.
There were a LOT of really nice S&W’s. I was on the hunt for a pistol caliber lever carbine, so I passed up a whole gaggle of beautiful revolvers I would have loved to have bought. Prices were somewhat higher than in the past, but not as bad as I expected them to be. Ammo was plentiful with high prices, but nothing that I would consider price gouging. Reloading supplies were far and few between, with primers even harder to find. No SPP at all and on LPP and rifle I saw $.08 to $.12 each. I had brought 6K LPP with me, mixed between standard and magnum with the idea of trading for SPP, but no one approached me to inquire about them at all. Seems like everyone is on the hunt for SPP.
I did find a new set of RCBS carbide .32H&R Mag dies for $35, so I didn’t come away completely empty handed. All in all it was quite fun and I enjoyed seeing other forum members there, handling guns and sharing knowledge with each other. I’d like to see it become a regular event with a lot of Florida members linking up. The big shows are put on twice a year and I think they are worthwhile to attend. They may not be the shows of years past, but they are fairly big and very centrally located to nearly all of the state.
Here is a picture of the four of us. L-R, tlawler(Tom), pharmer(Joe), cherrypointmarine(Mike), and Erocksmash(Erik)

I didn’t notice while we were in the show. It’s not a caliber I shoot that much. But on the way out there was a guy selling a 420 round ammo can for $300, if I remember correctly.

Nice meeting up with everyone, sorry I didn't catch up later to hand off the .45acp brass to Erik. I don't know if it was just me but I swear Colt's outnumbered S&W's 2 to 1. There was a very nice '50's Detective Special for $595 that was tempting. I liked the .38 spl M&P with a "C" prefix that was a bargain at $285, maybe 70% finish but good mechanics. I left it for someone who will appreciate it for what it is. If'n you "needed" a model 10/M&P this show was heaven. Ammo was slightly better than at Khaled's last Orlando Hoe-down. 9mm ball for $25/ 50, Blazer Brass. .44 mag, $40/50. .223 was either side of $1/rd, the stuff is a hot item. I was behind a guy in the "blazing sun line" to get in and he gladly paid another "linee" $1200 for a no-name AR15. While he was considering the price I asked if'n he really needed that today and he gave the impression the apocalypse is happening tomorrow. I enjoyed the experience and "like minded camaraderie" but having the other room shut down for no A/C, the hour long line and high prices among the walk ins (hint: You can't pay for Spring semester at UF with a single gun sale) I am happy with my set of mismatched K frame PC magnas without screw for $20. Old boy wanted $25, they were worth $5 but giving him the $20 seemed to save him from taking the gas pipe. Se ya's next time. Joe

it was a good show better than our local show, its a shame they didn't have the other building open(thats where all the deal tables were set in Jan) oh well maybe January it will be back to norm... primer prices are out of this world.
There was 2 that I thought about on the ride back that Clark PPC gun I think it was and that single shot 12ga I was gonna grab for my step son.... better luck next time I say..
