I’ve got one of those cheap red plastic locks somewhere. The spanner key tightens the screw that sandwiches the lock around the trigger guard. Junk...

Mine was steel with a vinyl coating, gun shops around here were giving them away.

There is also a tool that looks like that for turning the threaded flush endcap of a knife handle.

I had picked up a 200 or so of those locks on a close out 25 years ago. Got tired of locking and unlocking everything and had 80 brand new ones on a gun show table. There was a change in the laws and I had a micro gold mine! The bag with 80 used locks was sold to a large gun store for a $100 voucher for merchandise. (they needed to include a lock with all those used guns they sold!)
Just goes to say "One mans trash, is another man's gun lock!"

a cheap one at that..........
the good ones had a handle.....
but it is too old for a lot on this site to remember or even see.
Heck.....
they don't even use metal spikes any more.........
plastic is the new thing.
They hear me coming 50 yards away, coming through the parking lot !!
