Its been three years today.
"Interval complete resolution of metastatic lesions within the abdominal wall musculature and left anterior pararenal space."
These were my abdomen/pelvis ct-scan results from 9/25/2017.
The brain MRI, neck and chest were good.
This is why 9/25/2017 was such a great day.
Not only was the cancer eating my stomach muscles it was eating my skin causing open wounds too bleed. This picture was taken in May 2017.
This was the worst time I ever had in the 10 years fighting cancer. It was advanced metastatic stage IV melanoma.
It had attacked my stomach muscles back in Jan 2017.
By far the most painful and by far the worst side effects from the treatment they put me on.
I had doubled up on my oxycodone to try and help with the pain and tried to sleep as much as possible. It sucked.
On the day of my scans Carolyn (my doctor) asked me how I was doing on my medication, an oral chemo.
I told her that I had quit taking it 10-14 days prior to this appointment. She asked why? I know there were lots of times she had to fight from rolling her eyes at me.
I told her because the cancer was gone and I no longer saw a need to continue taking it.
She asked how I knew it was gone. She had not ever seen the scan results yet and wanted to know how I knew.
I told her because I believed. ❤
She stared at me for a minute then turned around and brought up the scan results on the computer, read that one line line and turned back around wearing a huge smile.
That following January was the first time I ever saw Carolyn tear up.
She told me I had no idea how hard it was for them knowing what I was going through, being 200 miles away and they couldn't do anything for me. To see tears in the strongest woman's eyes that I have ever known touched me deep within my heart.
I am soo grateful that she was the one who was on my side.

Kenny,
I've been fortunate and have no idea what you have gone through. All I can say is that we're all glad you're still with us and showing us how to clean!

Great news and great story. I know God is good but I don’t know if I could handle that like you have.

Those prayer emojis are just a symbol but what they represent is not. Prayer works.
Have a blessed day,
Leon

Just as an aside ...... it disturbs me as to why someone would be so callus/mean to "downgrade" this thread. This is good news for the op (rubiranch) and should be celebrated by all of us. It should have.... and deserves a "5" star rating!!!!!!!!

Cancer is an indescriminant squatter that while uninvited takes up residence and then trashes the place when finally forced out. We are left to deal with the resultant mess as best we can.
Five years for me. It has certainly changed my life but not my spirit nor my sense of humour.
Congratulations.
