Default UFO’s...

Last night I watched the new movie The Phenomenon. It was an interesting documentary about UFO’s and the fact that the government has a lot of information that they will not release to the public. Of course, people have been saying this for years so I don’t necessarily what to debate that point. However, the movie did make me think of an event that I experienced about a year ago that was interesting to say the least.

While on vacation at the North Carolina shore, my wife and I were sitting on the deck of a home facing the ocean. It was a fairly clear night but there was a very high layer of scattered clouds. At about 10pm, a solid red light passed directly over the house headed out to sea. I would guess it was about 1,000 feet above where we were sitting and was completely silent. We couldn’t see an outline of anything but the light was fairly large and bright. It moved out to sea somewhat slowly and at about a mile off shore it stopped. After being stationery for about ten seconds, it went to the left extremely fast for about two miles and then stopped. Then went further out to sea by about five miles at the same fast speed and then stopped. From that point, it slowly went up for about five seconds and then accelerated instantly to high speed upward into the clouds and disappeared.

At the time, my wife and I thought that it must be a military drone of some sort. We believed it had to be military because of the size of the light and the top speeds it was reaching. I’m guessing that the speeds had to be in the hundreds of miles per hour range.

So after the movie last night, I began looking on-line at different types of military drones and saw ones that travelled at high rates of speed. However, I couldn’t see where high speed drones could move at high speeds and make right-angle turns and achieve the same speed in a vertical direction.

I still believe that what we saw was some sort of large drone but wanted to see if anyone was familiar with equipment that is fairly large, is silent, moves at high speeds, and has the ability make right angle turns from horizontal to vertical direction.

If anyone is a fan of aerial military equipment or the Extra-Terrestrial, please weigh-in.......

Any object that is in the air, and you don't know what it is; is by the very nature of the name, an Unidentified Flying Object. UFO's have existed since well before Wilber and Orville!

As a kid I lived on the North side of Columbus Ohio, we had many strange and unusual objects in the sky, we were only 10 or 20 minutes by jet from Write-Patterson AFB. As I look back, We didn't see little green men in the sky, we saw green tax dollars flittering away! No the Air Force won't tell you what it is! It's a Secret!

This reminded me of the 1897 Aurora, TX incident:

One of my hobbies, in addition to my gun interests, is doing UFO investigations for the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). They do a great job of investigating UFO reports and are not affiliated with the government. I highly recommend that anyone who has experienced an unusual event such as this report it to them. You can do so anonymously if you wish. Most reports are explainable, but your experience may be one of those rare ones that is not. That makes it potentially important for MUFON to look into.

Yes, I was visited last night and taken aboard a spacecraft where I was probed and then put back in my bed. It was fun. Alien life exists.

I can tell you that they do exist . My sighting was in daylight hours and not just bright lights in the midnight sky . It was fairly up close and personal and lasted for quite a few seconds . I know what I witnessed . I have a pretty extensive aviation background . THere are people that laugh , think it's funny when you tell them what you have witnessed , it's no wonder many sightings are not reported . So yes , they do exist . I have personal testimony of it . Regards Paul

Well, there is this:

Pentagon releases three UFO videos taken by US navy pilots | World news | The Guardian

And this:

US defense department creates taskforce to investigate UFOs | US national security | The Guardian

So it seems the DoD is taking it seriously.

Back in 1980, at work one night, I saw a pair of lights going across the sky. They looked for all the world like a set of headlights. I tried for some time to convince my coworkers that it was Fred McMurray driving his Model T (from the Disney movie Absent Minded Professor),

but nobody would believe me.

Later I was told that it was the gooney bird from mosquito control, and that for some reason he had his landing lights on as he was flying.

I often wonder why aliens only collect their human specimens from trailer parks.
Its going to be fun to watch this thread develop, and see how many members drink to much.

There is not a doubt in my mind that we have crafts from other
places visiting earth. Way to many examples to deny. A friend
who had an uncle very high in government once told me all his
uncle would say about UFOs is that if the public knew 1/2 of what
the government knew, there would be mass suicides.

Some UFO stories are pretty compelling.
The Disc on the ground in a Special Weapons Storage Area - that means Nucs Girls - in England comes to mind.
Some Air Policemen and the Asst Base Commander saw it.
One AP says he touched it!
The Disc made sounds, vibrated, emitted lights and flew off.

A belief in extraterrestrials tells you a lot about a person.

Next time Ancient Aliens is on TV notice how many times you hear: Could it be? Do you think? Some think! Perhaps, Was this a signal? Was this a communication? Was this a warning? Maybe, Were they decendants of aliens? Hours of questions presented in a manner that makes them sound like facts rather than fantasy.

I think there is a subtle but important distinction to be made:

There is no rational reason “not to believe in UFO’s”. The possibilities for their existence, and other worlds beyond our are endless.

On the other hand, there are usually good reasons to be sceptical about most specific UFO encounter stories, and government cover-up tales.

Near where I live, some famous photos were taken in 1950. There is little reason to believe aliens fly about in upside-down kitchen plates. The incident did give the town an annual Alien Parade

Ancient Aliens and a mermaid show presented as a documentary are nonsense, I think.

The UFO I saw was valid, verified on USAF radar and was pursued by two F-106 fighters. As the planes approached, it took off at very high speed and was soon gone, out over the Atlantic. An officer and I viewed it in 7X50 binoculars, but the altitude was so high that it looked like an aberrant star performing maneuvers no known aircraft could accomplish.

See post 15. I've seen that case before and believe it, and the Navy has recently released footage of F/A-18 's trying to catch UFO's.

There are too many credible sightings not to believe in at least some UFO's.

As for Bigfoot, I'd say maybe a 65% chance.

About 35 years ago my BIL got what he said was a good look at "something" sort of floating in the night sky. He was a on duty Deputy in a very desolate part pf his duty area!

He said nothing over the radio but reported it to higher ups at end of shift. Was told off the record that over the course of time there had been a couple mentions by other deputies and a couple home owners about this area, but nothing put in writing.

His superior told him to also forget about it. There were only a couple people he ever told the story to. Obviously one was me!

Soooo I’m guessing you’re saying those Navy fighter pilots are crackpots?
Objects flying in ways we can only imagine. Seen by some of our brightest servicemen.
Look at the Hubble Deep Field image attached. It’s of a small segment of the sky, 1/24,000,000th. One twenty four millionths!
Each point of light is a galaxy containing perhaps millions of stars. Possibly thousands of stars in each galaxy would have planets in “The Goldylocks Zone” to support life as we know it.
Mathematically speaking, life beyond earth is a certainty.

At the fastest speed ever reached by an Atlas 5 rocket, how long would it take to get from earth to the nearest earth-like planet?

Many generations.

So, why would someone think that visitors from another planet would spend many, many years to come here?

Since those craft fly so fast and turn such sharp angles, I suggest it would be much easier to find where they came from since that would be a stationary planet. Go Hubble !

Big difference between a "Way Point" and a "Stupid Check",

So, me is pretty sure that the only proven aspect of this issue is that they are referred to "Intelligent life" for a good reason.

I'm not ready to stock up on aluminum foil or fall for the all new anti-alien palladium coated FMJ 9800fps stuff. At least not until I resolve my Y2K issue.

so what happened to the career's of the pilots that claimed they saw an UFO? the sound they heard was their flying careers (military and civilian) going down the tube. they are now at a base quite ways southwest of Cairo flying a desk. I can't say the name here.

They're not flying Atlas slowpoke rockets! And they need bases and probably minerals and may be underway to taking over here. Eventual trade and alliances are other possible goals.

The problem is we tend to assume ' life as we know it' , based on carbon and living on O2.
How about the possibility of other forms of life based not on carbon and O2, but on differents elements?
Not an intelligent being, but the bacteria that causes tetanus actually dies in the presence of O2.
Regards, Ray

The fact that over 125 Galaxies have been mapped kind of lends to the intelligent life out there. Not life as We know it. Or,, We have been observing hyper-sonic weather balloons.

So, the gov. knows about them. But they don't want billions of people freaking out. So, many years have been used to prime the public. Movies like ET, Star Trek, etc. Who would fear Mr. Spock? Then add scary movies like Alien, The Day the Earth Stood Still, etc. But we came out OK in those too. District Nine, Alien Nation, etc, they are already here. So, I hope they are more like Vulcans than Klingons. Wookies rule! Princess Leah can stay at my house.

If you follow through with this logic you couldn't fly an airplane for fear of bumping into a spacecraft there would be so many of them. If every millionth galaxy was capable of space travel we'd be loaded with them.

I knew a couple who swore they were visited by aliens in the middle of the night.

I asked them, "So you're telling me that visitors from another galaxy came here in search of intelligent life, and they missed it by one house?"

I've talked to people that I consider a good source of information that are sure that UFO's, Bigfoot, Ghosts exist. Having never experienced any of the previous I have no reason to believe in them, a possibility sure...no facts or scientific data to back them up...I'm out. I have heard a wierd call while camping way up North that I could not identify that raised the hair on the back of my neck, I've heard cougars make different sounds but nothing like that one. I knew a guy that claimed to have worked with the National Geographic Society and their study on Bigfoot, he told plenty of stories but when asked "Do you believe it exists?" He said as much as he'd like to he still has doubts because nobody he considered relevant had ever seen one or remains enough to scientifically prove it.
I'd like to believe in ghosts and have gone out of my way to sleep in "haunted" houses and caves...no dice for me. I've heard stuff but there always was something that made the sound. Once I near tore a furnace apart looking for the racket, turned out to be an attachment on the exhaust that flapped and made a tapping sound, everybody else in the family said the place was haunted...your imagination will definitely play mind games on your sense of reality.

If you were a highly intelligent life form
capable of traveling through vast spaces,
would you keep coming back to this
planet decade after decade after decade?

I suppose so if just to find out just how
far stupid can go.

How so?
I never said they’d all be capable of intergalactic navigation. Some may be knuckle draggers or microbes. Not every civilization would be advanced enough, and if some were, what would they all want to visit here for. We maybe a rather boring to them, a mere curiosity.

The bits and pieces of the truth is coming out.

Look at the Bible, the giant we just killed in Afghanistan? Noah’s ark they found. The Dead Sea schrolls. Read everything you can the truth is out there.

I could say more.

One thing seems highly likely:

No matter where and whether UFO’s, aliens, other world and lifeforms exist, they are probably not conforming to our limited imagination stuck in the Newtonian (and only to a certain degree the quantum) universe, from flying saucers to aliens that look like humans after plastic surgery gone sideways

I kinda skimmed this thread and didn't see the most important question...

What would be the best caliber/gun against an alien?

Wasn't it in the news recently that vehicles not made on this world had been found?

He looked a little older, still had some swagger, and he got my order right!
Fat Elvis or skinny Elvis?

I was working the midnight shift in the "Special Weapons" area at Clark Air Base, PI, and was with another AP, as the area was a 2 man zone.
We were looking up at the stars when my partner said "hi mom, hi dad, I'll be joining you soon. I asked him what he meant and he stated he was "from another planet".
I mentioned this to the Supervisors and he was transferred out of the Air Police, but I have no idea where he went.
