Default Herretts Stocks

I hope this is in the right spot but here goes. I just got off the phone with Robin at Herretts Stocks in Idaho Falls and she said that they were indeed still in business and were moving to a new location. Production will be slow for now but definitely still here for us.Very helpfull lady and great news for custom stock world.

That’s great! Seems to me that I’d heard they were going out of business. Good to hear that info is incorrect.

I've done business with them since the late 70s and have always found them to be professional. Always quality workmanship.

Glad to know they worked out their problem and are going to stay in
business. By the way, they are in Twin Falls, Idaho not Idaho Falls.

I have a few of their stocks and love them all. Below, left to right.

Jordan Trooper stocks on my model 19

Cocobolo on my model 29

I like the looks of the Jordan Troopers on the M19.

Since you have placed a few orders, anything that is tricky or difficult on the hand tracing/measuring process they have on their website? Any other tips?

I expect to go after classy, understated grips such as the Jordan’s.

The grips in the picture were given to me by a customer when I worked at a gas station in 1968. They are N frame, and I have had them all these years

It's a little difficult to lay your shooting hand on the paper and
outline it with the other hand, so it might be better to have
someone else do the drawing for you. Also do a few practice
runs before you mess up the paper they send to you.
I believe those Jordan Trooper stocks are my favorites too.
Thank youl

I wonder if a copier/scanner would work instead of a trace.

Hi Pete, those look just like my mystery set that came with my 1951 vintage 27--can you please post a picture of the inside/inletting? Most appreciated, thank you.

Thank you, Pete. That's some pretty dark walnut, nice! I can see the "stab mark" at the top of the grips, are there any towards the bottom?

These are what my grips look like, think they're the same? Herrets?

Glad to hear they're still in business. Here's a set of Herrett stocks on my Smith and Wesson model 15-4.

I think they probably are Herrett's. However, I got to thinking and I went to Herrett's website and they say people have been using their stocks for 40 years. Well I have had mine 52 years, so I wonder if they were made by Steve Herrett, before a company was formally formed?
