Default A unique form of torment?

It is not often that I am at a loss, but I am currently up against a brick wall.

A few days ago, I was notified by UPS that I have a package that should be delivered by SurePost on Wednesday. What is driving me batty is that I don't have any outstanding purchases that haven't been delivered. What adds to the confusion is that it is coming from an Indianapolis based publisher that is permanently closed and there isn't an active phone number that I can call to inquire about the package. Honestly, when I've received SurePost packages in the past, they've typically been delayed, and I will not be in a position to receive a delayed package for a while.

Has anyone else been in this situation before? The sender is supposed to be RR Donnelly: Indianapolis.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Likely some kind of scam, especially if you were notified via e mail.

If you got the Notification through your
“UPS My Choice”
Then its in the UPS System
You'll just have to wait & see

For those who aren't Familiar
UPS / FEDEX/ USPS
All have a way you can know Whats in their systems scheduled to arrive at you address
One of the option is to have them send an email or txt when things are on their way

I'll just say here that RR Donnelly is a h-u-g-e outfit, and I'm not sure if you were saying that a particular location was closed or... in any case, these company is not permanently closed or out of business. These guys are pretty big. 36,000+ employees, $6 Billion+ revenue.

Donnelly has an operation in my hometown. Donnelly specializes in printed materials. Books, advertisting etc. Hope this helps!

BTW: R.H. Donnelly part of but not the same as RR Donnelly is no longer in operation may be causing some confusion..good luck.

Probably a scam, I've received similar emails when I had ordered nothing.

Take a good look at the email you received. Somewhere on it or somehow you should be able to find the return email address of the sender. If it doesn't say "@UPS.com" on the end of the return address then it is a scam.

Another way to detect a scam is if the message doesn't contain a tracking number in it. Yes, even if it's SurePost or another service where the package is sent by one service but delivered by USPS there should be a tracking number. You can copy any real tracking number from FedEx, UPS and USPS and simply enter it into Google and it will bring you to the correct service's page to track your package for you.
No tracking number = scam email.
Tracking number that indicates delivery to a different address = scam email.

A lot of the scam emails look pretty authentic right up to a certain point. The scammers literally copy a real email from UPS, USPS, etc. and then change all the links in the message so clicking on any of them will redirect you to their site, where they than ask you to fill in your personal info in order to get your "package" delivered or whatever. If you hover your mouse over any link in the message you should see the destination address somewhere in your browser (usually along the bottom). If the web address it wants to send you to doesn't say "...FedEx.com", "...UPS.com" or whatever is appropriate then DON'T CLICK ON THAT LINK.

Cheers!

It's a scam, get them all the time. Hit delete and if you do get something you can write back to the return address thanking them for the gift.
