Just so you all know.............
If you ever hear about my dead body being found on a hiking trail you can be sure that I was murdered somewhere else and dumped there.

One would assume that hiking is far down on your list of "fun" things to do.

I’m with you Lobo!
You’re unlikely to find me on a hiking trail, dead or alive.

So .. That's why I didn't see you on the Appalachian Trail. I brought you a bag of berries and pine nuts.

I live near a segment of the Appalachian Trail across the river from Dauphin, PA. I am also a volunteer fireman and first responder. Several times a year we are called to rescue a 'hiker'. They usually turn out to be 300 lb. people who thought it would be a nice day for a hike on the trail after thirty years of sitting on the couch. The interesting part is getting them off the mountain. Most of them survive.
So, never say never about a hike! But if you do, it may be wise to alert the local rescue teams in advance and carry a fully charged cell phone.

I could shoot a 22LR rifle, and hit a section of the Appalachian Trail from my place,,
the only time I was on it,, I was riding an ATV up the trail, back in the early 1980's,,
The trail was ALWAYS empty Sunday afternoon, that is when I would ride,,,

I was trying to remember the last time I actually ran the other day, I think it was a couple years ago while chasing my granddaughter around the back yard...could be more like four or five years ago.

I have a similar and well documented aversion to Facebook. In somewhat different ways they can both be dangerous and hard to navigate in one way or another. I'm no more likely to navigate one than I am the other. If I'm spotted on either, well, it ain't me. I promise.
My physical travels are pretty much restricted to the trail from the bedroom to the coffee pot in the mornings and hang around in that general area for the day. My adventures on the web are 2 gun board and a fishing board.

I heard that! I don't do lines. 4 1/2 years in the military wore me out on lines. The only line I can remember is When We stood in line in the rain in January to watch The Exorcist. We got in line half way through a showing and waited through another full showing. It wasn't my choice but sometimes you have to go along to get along.
Lines are why I don't eat in cafeterias. I like to walk in sit down and someone come and ask me what I want to eat and then go get it and bring it to my table. keep that iced tea comin' too. I don't want to have to stand up until I'm ready leave. All that works out for me I'm a good tipper.

I didn't think I could run.......
Until I disturbed a nest of wasps in one of the storage buildings in the yard. I think I set some kind of speed record to the door. :-)
Have a blessed day,

Mine would be "choked on tofu"
Or "drowned in non-alcoholic beer"
Signs of foul play for sure.

My wife and I just went on a 5.15 mile hike today and all we saw, aside from a beautiful Autumn view, was a pair of skivvies somebody stashed by the trail.

Out in Colorado if you are dead on the trail, I'm sure that nature will recycle you. Keep some dipping sauces in your pocket for the animals. I've heard they like a little hot sauce too!

I like hiking. I like to see things that most people will never see. I love nature and this beautiful world that God gave us. I'm getting a little too old to do the heavy duty stuff these days, but I still like shorter hikes - up to 8 or 10 miles if it's not too steep for old folks.

So you are publicly admitting that you and your wife spend a great deal of time and effort in order to look at other peoples' skivvies? Everybody needs a hobby, and shared hobbies are good for a marriage, but................???

I was spraying weeds in my back yard and found a wasps nest on the
inside of my shed door, so I gave it a blast of weed spray. A whole swarm
of wasps came after me. I'm 85 but can still move pretty fast when I am
motivated.

When we're on the trail we keep our eyes open for what we call, "trail treasures." Headlights, flashlights, bike gloves, lighters and other things people lose on the trail.
Usually, unfortunately, we mostly find litter and cigarette butts.
First time we saw skivvies by the side of the trail though.
Tomorrow my wife and I are gonna share our going to the gym and lifting weights hobby.

I've taken to carrying a small trash bag on hikes. When / if it gets full of "trail treasures" it gets sealed and put into the backpack for disposal later. I hate litter in otherwise pristine areas.

I gave you a "like" because it was funny, but for me, I'm more comfortable in the woods than just about anywhere else.
But I never hike just for the sake of hiking. There needs to be a cool destination and/or activity at the end. Arthur keeps me from hiking at the same pace I did years ago, but it doesn't keep me indoors, either.

I've practiced social distancing with Brussels sprouts for as long as I can remember. You couldn't get me close enough to one for me to choke on it, although I might gag on the approach.

A little late, but...Out here, there are folks who actually hike in the mountainous Red Rock Recreation Area (proper name?). To them, I have one question:
"Where's the High Limit room?"
