One thing you should NEVER do !!
Had an old can of spray foam that has long since plugged up. You might know where this is going,,, I wondered if it was still pressurized, so I did what any fun loving guy would do. I put a CCI Mini Mag HP through it out of my 15-22. Gollee,,, what a monumental mess. Had foam in about a 50 foot radius including the roof and wall of the garage. Wife was not happy. I will be awhile cleaning that mess up,,, Duh.

And.....please don't store pressurized spray cans in sealed, military ammo cans. The pressure can leak out of the pressurized paint or other aerosol can, and pressurize the entire storage can, turning it into a "bomb" or sorts.

I've thought about doing that very thing as those products are usually only good for one use and still pretty much full.
Thanx for being the guinea pig!

The only thing more fun is throw them in a big camp fire—make sure you are a good runner. I don’t think this is OSHA or EPA compliant, but it’s funny.

Our elk camp had a can of whipped cream go into the outside fire, the biggest chunk was found about 30 yards away.

I once shot a partially pressurized can of paint with a .22 - in a dump. Hilarious! It jumped up about thirty feet in the air like a bottle rocket without a tail, spewing orange paint everywhere. My 11 year old daughter was impressed. Glad we were at a safe range. Don't try this at home

Some of us are old enough to have had the opportunity to go shooting at a dump.
Aside from the rats and other varmints and all the glass targets available, there were discarded aerosol cans.
The pressurized aerosol cans were great fun: especially lively, reactive targets.

^^^That was our favorite Saturday night activity in the small town I grew up in! I loved my Nylon 66–a deadly rat killer.

I have shot 100's of cork finish bottles that now are several dollars each.
The road side dumps were full of them. What was I thinking?

Laughed my butt off reading this. Wife wondered what I was laughing at and when I told her, her reaction was: Is there a video?

When I was a kid, a few times we would go to the city dump. People dumped their trash there and there was always a few fires smoldering. We would look for aerosol cans, shave cream, paint, bug spray etc. After we had many of the cans, we would toss them in one of the fires and run like hell. After a minute or so, they started exploding. But we were 50 or more yards away.

To my knowledge this is the second time that this statement has come up on the forum in the last couple months. I have tried to wrap what little brain I have around this statement and it just doesn't make sense.
If I were to put a pressurized spray paint can in a .50 caliber military ammo can, activate the latch thereby sealing the ammo can and for what ever reason the paint can were to expel its contents then the ammo can becomes a bomb or dangerous.
I say no more dangerous that the paint can originally was in the first place.
Stick your paint can in a 55 gallon drum and it becomes a bigger bomb! evacuate the county!

Breech blocks and WD40
Used to work at a place that forged breech blocks for 5" guns. They would take them out of the forge and set them on a steel pallet outside to cool. Wait until the block goes gray from orange and drop a can of WD40 in the hollowed out portion of the block. In just a few seconds, spectacular explosion and fireball!
We were just testing the blocks before they got to rough machining

I just remembered I have about 20 full pop cans that need emptied before next week's recycle pick up. I've found my purpose! They won't be as much fun as the spray foam insulation can, but what else is there to do?

Walmart sells their store brand pop for about 2.50 for a pack of 12. I bought 3 packs last weekend for the grandkids to shoot. With the red dot on the 15-22, it was hard to miss and a real crowd pleaser.

Old pro tip :
Leave them in the sun to warm up a bit and then shake them up real well first

It’s a lot more fun and less messy to foam somebody you don’t likes exhaust. Also jam can between items that will keep it going until empty. In bed of truck or interior if possible. Almost as good as putting Skunk down in door panels.

Years back I was using a can of that spray foam. I was at the top of a ladder and dropped it. Can hit the concrete floor in the garage and ran wild, made a huge mess of the floor and walls till it ran out of material. Of course the can was full!
Wife was not too happy Do not remember her exact words but it went something like this. Your licensed to own and carry concealed hand guns to buy, use, transport and possess explosives and a pressurized can is too much for you to control.

I never shot a can of foam, but I did shoot some cans of old spray paint. My ex-GF's dad was a sniper in Israel, and, well, he didn't like me much, to the point we broke up because of him. One time though, we took his Nazi marked rifle out into the desert, with the biggest scope I've ever seen on it, and blasted up a ton of rotten fruit we got for free at a grocery store near my house. I got the sole compliment I ever got from him when he said, "You have very steady hands", after I shot a Honeydew melon from a LONG ways away. The small melons would vaporize when hit and the big watermelons would shatter into mush. It was a lot of fun. He shot a small canteloupe dead center from hundreds of yards away. I guess that was as close as I would ever get to being a real sniper, unlike my GF's dad, who shot a lot of guys over there in '48 and '56. He had some interesting pictures...

Thanks for the PSA! Someone from far, far away; has been warned against making a mell-ofa-hess. A friend of a friend’s friend was preparing to foam some gaps today

The most common propellant used today in spray cans is LP gas. It is cheaper than clean compressed air.
