The national guard in Boise has a bunch of A10’s. Absolutely love when they are our flying. Would have been a shame to have them missing from the air around here.

The A-10 is the one jet I really would’ve loved to fly. Watching them being put through their paces they look like a ton of fun to fly. They’re a real stick and rudder pilots airplane. It’s good to know they’ll be sticking around for a while.

They talk about survivabilty, I think it’s tops in that category. It’s not stealth but it’s designed to be in your face, may the best one win.
I know who I’ll bet on

Hard to believe that they are now considered old. I remember watching a demo of them back at Ft. Knox when they first came online. Two passes destroyed a valley full of captured Soviet armor.

I love the A-10. It's a vastly superior "bomb truck" than the F-35. But when I peruse the Web and see the latest SAMs coming out of Russia, I do worry about its survivability, even with a new suite of gadgets.

There's nothing like the A10 - 'glad it'll be around for a while longer. The more tools the AF has in its toolkit the better - I never thought flying an $80 million F35 low enough to hit ground vehicles with cannon fire was a good option.

The the cannon round load-out of any of our other planes, mines the C-130 gunships is at best 1/4 the number of rounds. 16.1 seconds vs 4 on all out full rate of fire.

I was at Ft Knox doing tank maneuvers and was mock attacked by A10s.. they came over a hill and scared the **** out of us. They would have gotten us all before we could even react! Sure glad they are on our side!

Sounds like, with the updated A-10's, they can get rid of some of the high priced stuff. Just kiddng!!

It's great news to find out that someone actually has their head on straight and made the right decision.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

When working in remote mountain valleys in north central Afghanistan, I sure appreciated the sound of an A10’s gun, etc.

The updated A-10C now also has the new electronics suite, full JDAM capability and stand off missiles as well as the traditional load out. I was told that its attack radius is now 15 miles.
