Default Photo Posting

G'Day, On an earlier post I tried to insert an image that I had previously uploaded to Flickr, I copied the location address and posted it, but in stead of a photo it inserted a link.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a better site for posting photos on this forum.

Thanks.

I post direct from my iPad.
The downside is it posts small!
You can open it up bigger.
I was up there last week.
Needed clouds!

The trick to posting a full-size image in the body of your post is to use the Insert Image function. It is accessed by clicking on the itty-bitty square in the top section of the message composition/reply window that looks like a couple of mountains with the sun above. Doing so opens a small window where you can insert the internet link to your photo. The Insert Image function works only for photos from an internet source. You cannot use it to insert photos directly from your computer or phone.

To insert photos from your computer or phone, an additional step is necessary. Either post your photo to an internet website, or use the Forum to provide your photo with an internet link (that's what I do). To do this:
1. Click on the "Attachments" function (the paper clip icon in the message window).
2. Select your photo from your computer or phone.
3. Upload it to the Forum.
4. Use "Preview Post" to see how your post will look. Your photo will appear as a small image at the bottom of your post.
5. Click on the photo image. It will expand in a new window. Highlight and copy the web address from the address bar of that window.
6. Go back to your message composition/reply window. Click on the little "Insert Image" box (the one with the mountains). Paste the copied web address into the box that opens, and click OK.
7. Go back to Preview Post to make sure your image appears as desired.

It seems complicated, but once you've done it a couple of times, it becomes easy. Below, I did that with one of my photos, an "artistic" shot from London:

I forgot I had a Flickr account.

If you click the image you want to post here. There will be an arrow pointing right at the bottom of your picture.

Click that then select BB Code and the size you want to post here.

Then just copy and paste the link you get here.

Bingo!

That's exactly how I post from Flickr to this forum. I might add that I delete everything before and after the bracketed img tags which removes my personal information from the pic.

Random shot.

I also use Flickr and delete everything outside the [img] tags. Works great.

For this step you can also just right-click (desktop) the image and “copy image address”. On the phone, touch and hold the thumbnail until the submenu pops up. Especially on the latter, much less awkward than copy and paste.

I tried that, but there was no [/img] image tag at the end of the line. At least I got rid of the link to my Flickr account...I would have been banned for life if anyone would have clicked that and reported me.

I've used SmugMug since 2007.

It's a complete CMMG AR I ordered from them with a dedicated 22LR upper. Lower is just a standard lower. Bought it around 2009. Few years later I got the Class 3 bug and short barreled it and a DPMS AR I have.

Lot of the companies that make the 22 AR's would put a plastic buffer tube and no buffer on the lower. I wanted this one set up so I could swap out any upper I wanted.

It's never jammer one time using CCI Sub or SV ammo, suppressed or not. The firing pin broke into 3 pieces once. Took a pic of it and emailed it to CMMG, they sent me 2 new ones free.

I've been considering a dedicated 22 for some time. I think you just gave me a good starting point.

IMGUR.Com

It's easy. Upload your pictures to Imgur and then just copy ( second option from bottom ) Then go back to the website you want to put the picture and paste.

CMMG makes a lot of different 22 uppers if you already have a lower.

You can solve that if you copy the link location and then paste it in the window "insert image" opens.

Edit. Absalom beat me to it.

Again.
