Yes, but not because I choose not to go, but because the shows have been cancelled.

All the gun shows here in Australia have been cancelled. Some already cancelled for 2021 too.

We have not had a show since December. Our governor is on a power trip. The libraries are still closed. Incredible.

I answered I never go to gun shows. Because there is no such thing around here.

To buy guns here you either go to a gun store, buy them in on line gun auctions or buy privatly from an acquaintance(generally fellow shooters or collectors).

I've done all of them.

I voted never go because they are no longer gun shows. The are beef jerky sellers, jewelry sellers, tacti-cool accessory stalls, guns for sale with telephone numbers for prices, etc.

I haven't been to one around here in years.

The gun I'm trying to buy is worth its weight in gold, and my gun I'm trying to trade is worthless junk.

Nope.

The last gun show I missed going to wasn't because I was afraid of COVID. I was respecting a self-quarantine and didn't want to become Vermont's next Typhoid Mary. I remained negative even though I had some symptoms. Do the right thing. There will be other gun shows.

Mrs Lakesider and I have done 3 shows since this nonsense started. None of them have been what I call local. We found out about the shows and basically took a ride to see the scenery and then possibly drop in.

All 3 we saw were small, but well run. One in particular was very interesting it was a Red Neck show for sure. It was in a large farmers field at a decent gun shop out in the middle of nowhere.

We drove checked out the scenery and found the show. $3 to get in and it was not bad at all. Prices were up naturally and we went into the host gun shop which was in that big field and intend to go back when we can. Shop was very crowded and we did not have the time but it interested us enough to check it out more in the future.

They said they had over 500 paid attendees that went to the show! Parking was alongside the country road for about a half mile at least in both directions, sort of like a huge garage sale!

The shows around Atlanta seem to be up and running again. There is a very strong market for ammo and compact 9mm's. AR's are through the roof. AK's not so much. Military 5.56 (green tip penetrator) is selling at .80-.90 a round, so those who have plenty are raking it in. Even collectable guns are showing well, such as M-1 Carbines, Garrands, etc. My collection of hard to find S&W's is expanding, but rare is still rare.
This week I sent a pistol to family from GA to AZ and the recipient was told it would take 1 to 1 1/2 hours to complete the transfer.
I will have my usual 3 tables at the Expo center this week end, more for buying than selling, and we are expecting big crowds both days.
The virus seems to have not effected attendance. The election and unrest are likely big determining factors, more so than the virus.

Headed to one for the first time since March. Just down the road in Palmetto / Bradenton. Really just going to see the owner of the show as he is an old friend.

I'll get there before it opens, visit with him for coffee and a cigar...
and leave early before the crowds.

BUT ya never know what might follow me home.

Still having shows here in Texas, and I'm going to the ones close to me. Went to two this month and will attend two in November. Have bought and sold at them all.

As for the crowds at the shows, it is no worse than the grocery stores. Here in Texas, they even check your temp before they let you in. Grocery stores don't do that, if you can walk or wheel yourself in, you are OK to buy bread, milk and eggs!!!

I go to the shows we have.............. suffered through a spring and summer without any thanks to the covid hysteria. When they started again I was happy, even with the mask edicts and limited capacity. I usually get a table so I can buy and sell, visit with friends, many who are dealers and work the show circuit as well as gunshow regulars. Used to be a dealer myself and it's part of my lifeblood I guess.

My LGS has everything I need and his prices are generally better than what you can find at a gun show. My firearms purchasing has been at local farm auctions or my LGS.

Default Going to one this weekend

...At least it says the show is confirmed on the web. All the gun stores are open with people walking around with masks. How are gun shows any different? I don't understand this selective closure of some gatherings but not others. Political no doubt, and it's getting old. High hopes this will stop post election.

I voted yes but if the shows were better I might go. The shows in my area charge more to get in then it is worth. Most are just local dealers with the same new stuff priced high. No reloading equipment or supplies even before the virus. If the shows were better before the virus I might attend but the ones we have here are not worth the risk of being indoors with a bunch of people.

I do still go to gun shows. I just went to one a couple of weeks ago. But I don't go to nearly as many as before Covid 19. I used to go to most of them in my area even if I wasn't in the market for anything in particular. I always enjoy walking up and down the rows and looking at all the goodid on the tables.

Now I only go if I'm after a specific gun or ammo etc.

Exclamation Mask Public

I voted "No" basically because the one's I my area are no
longer gun shows.

They have the usual beef jerky sellers, jewelry sellers,
tacti-cool accessory boutiques, guns for sale with Zip
codes for prices, etc.

Now there is one true Gun Show I will go to! The Cheyenne WY
Pistol and Rifle Club. They make it a point and point out
that; "Their Show is Guns Only", and it is!

All Vendor's there, that I have talked to, are true Firearms
Enthusiasts, welcoming, talker's, and very polite. That show I
do enjoy.

Hell, that's where I met Iggy, cowboy hat and all, what a
Gentleman!

It is not covid keeping me from gun shows, it is the communist Washington State legislature that has essentially outlawed them.

I’ve been to a few local small shows in SW Florida and one of the bigger ones up in Lakeland. Lots of black plastic, stun guns, beef jerky, the latest tacticool gewgaws, etc... but a few real gems. The show in Lakeland had some really nice S&W’s and Colts. Prices were inching up, but that’s to be expected I suppose. Still enjoy them even if they aren’t what they used to be.

No wuflu fears here and this was one of my scores from National Gun Day a couple weeks ago. Also got a 99% Colt Trooper MkIII and a 3" 686 7 shot shooter grade. The prize was this 5 screw .357 w/cokes. Not gonna say how little I paid but forum member GF will verify I spent my money wisely.

We go. People have their masks if they wanted to wear them, not demanded. Prices are absolutely nuts. Generic 9mm 115-gr FMJ for $30 to $50 per box of 50. Add $200 or more to ARs. Panic-buyers are everywhere.

That's about the size of it... plus anti-gun politicians are doing their level best to ban them from their county fairground venues, so their numbers have been severely dwindling.

Plus by the time you pay for gas, admission and parking... I'd rather devote that to the price of a gun at a gun store.

I feel sorry for most of y'all. We're lucky here in flyover country. No charge for parking and we don't drive too far. Admission is $7-$8, and if you badge 'em you're in free. Usually a jerky table and a Scentsy table, other than that is guns and knives. Some tactical optics, not many AR accessories, usually a guy with steel targets of various configurations . . .

I’ve been to three gunshows since August, going to another on Friday. Between the three shows I’ve gotten a box .38 wadcutter, some shotgun slugs and a 1961 Colt Government. Only paid $15 for the wadcutters, and the Colt was a good deal. The slugs were a bit steep, but I needed slugs. I doubt I’ll buy anything for myself at the next show, I don’t need anything bad enough to pay the current prices. Watching the people and seeing what the market is doing make it worth going.

I'm not sure there are any local shows running, but even if there were I wouldn't be going. I've only gone to gun stores since March to pick up transfers.

We've had one here in central Wyo this year. No jerky or snake oil.

I was there with two tables.

$5 entry, free parking, well attended.

More, please!

We had one here a couple of weeks ago. I had other things to do, but I could have managed to go if I'd really wanted to. I passed, but not because of the virus.

I have been to a couple of the small more-or-less monthly shows in Tulsa since the pandemic began, one early on and another about a month ago. These are shows that take about 30 minutes to go through and are generally pretty sparsely populated. As usual there was essentially nothing I was interested in although I did buy a few boxes of 10mm ammo at the last one.

The Tulsa Wanenmacher show though? It pains me but I am strongly leaning towards not going this November. An enclosed space with thousands of people in it from all over the country, a large percentage of whom I expect will not be wearing masks, with "social distancing" essentially impossible. And it's not like at a theater or sporting event where you might be physically close to just a few people - anyone who walks the whole show as I do will be passing through the exhalations of thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of people, some number of whom will almost certainly be COVID positive, even if asymptomatic.

I'm not all that old (63) and in good health and with no underlying conditions. I love going to the Wanemacher show, it's one of the few places where I almost always find something cool to buy. The mental image I have of myself when I enter the building is of a small child running through the aisles of a toy store, going "Weeeeee!"

Since I live 20 miles from the venue it's a decision I can make at the last minute. But this time I'm thinking it's a risk I am not willing to take. It's not like I don't already have guns....

I'm unwilling to risk my wife's health. We're both in our 60s and she has a couple of serious chronic health conditions. Even if she wasn't at an event, I would be, and that risk of carrying something home would be unacceptable to me.

There was a Gun Show earlier this month that looked like was well attended. The gun prices were nothing to write about and ammunition was way overpriced.

We were in town this morning and I saw a billboard ad for a Gun Show on November 7 & 8. Depending on the elections result I think it will either be a boom or bust event.

No gun show are keeping from going to gun shows.

Gun Shows have changed over the years from the '50 thru today; today the gun show are more like a flea market with a lot junk for sell. Years ago I enjoyed going to a gun show to look, buy, sale, or trade firearms.

You saved me a lot of typing. I really enjoy the Tulsa show and haven't missed many for many years. I'm 81 and in pretty good health, my wife not so much. There is no way with that kind of crowd that it won't be there. I'm not much of a gambler.

The shows in my area have all been cancelled. One coming up in Reno, Nv. next month, but don't think I will make the 250 mile trip. All the others there this year have been cancelled and it won't suprise me if this one isn't.
