Storm Damage
We are ok down in the Heart of Dixie, but widespread storm damage throughout the Southeast. It's still dark, so I haven't been able to examine the storage buildings, but I think we are ok. Our Daughter said they have one tree down.
The storm blew my tomato plants over. :-(
But they are predicting a cold snap this weekend, down into the mid thirty's. So we will probably pick the green tomatoes and have a mess of fried green tomatoes this weekend.
Thank God we are ok,
Leon

No damage at home, lots of trees down and power outages in New Orleans.
We were on the west "good" side of the eye.

Lots of trees down on Lavander Mountain. I usually leave about 7:00, get to work about 7:30. I loaded the chainsaw up this morning and left for work at 6:00. Got here about 8:30. Lots of swerving and cutting in between.

In Oklahoma there are 350,000 homes without electricity since Monday due to ice. There are trees, power lines, and power poles down everywhere and many roads are blocked and people can't get out. I've have a few guys that would like to work on my construction projects but all material suppliers that I've called are closed because of no power. My daughters house and all her friends and family members homes have no power so she's been staying with me and I have a propane fireplace and we took mattresses off the beds into the living room and have been sleeping there. Food in the fridge and freezer is ruined but that's no big deal I don't keep much in there now that I'm single. I forgot that I owned a power inverter and found it in the garage and that has been the most valuable piece of equipment during all this. I plug it into my truck and recharge the batteries for all the flashlights and lanterns and charge my laptop on it and use the hotspot on my phone to watch movies on the laptop. There are a few restaurants open so food's not a problem and I go to my gym to shower. The power company said this is the worst outage in the state in history so it may take a LONG time to get it all back on.

I'm waiting for the wind to die down to go check. Need to drive over to the marina and check on my boat. It got swamped in its slip in a storm early this year. Lost the season to repairs. I am optimistic because the wind direction is over land and forest, not across the water.
Zeta, eta, theta, iota. Refreshed myself on Greek alphabet. Hoping I won't need to go any further.

Wind was blowing in off the lake. Unblocked. Good news was it was straight into the bow of my boat, and was hardly disturbing it. I had to sit down on the wet floating dock to retie my lines. I was getting seasick from the dock moving so much. Dock moving; boat still.

No damage here with 70mph gusts. Many area trees down. Knocked out power from dawn to dusk.

I think winds peaked around 50 mph over here. A few trees down in the neighborhood. No damage to houses I could see. No power outages.
All the work I did blowing leaves out of the yard Tuesday was completely undone. As if it never happened.

Still about 350,000 without power this morning after the storm, but we are so blessed, all of our family is ok. I have to clean up the yard today and get ready for our jam tomorrow at a local farm.
Have a blessed day,
Leon
