Just a point of parliamentary procedure, but possession of prescription controlled substances without a current, valid prescription may adversely impact your ability to vote, hold public office and possess a firearm . . .

I will discuss it with him at my next appointment. However I have a stash of about 600 pills and still just using few each month. Most people will not abuse drugs but must suffer because of the actions of a few. While the drug companies are a factor in the abuse of drugs they are not standing there shoving pills down a patient throat.

Default Pain

This thread, has introduced me to a new type of pain, the pain caused by seeing my friends on this forum loosing each others friendship, through a discussion that has become an argument.
My claim to being an expert about pain, is not based upon my expertise, in treatment of pain but enduring it. I don't want to overstate my maladies, but I've lived in constant pain, for at least 75yr. During those many years, I've had treatment, by many doctors, for every type of malady, that you can imagine. Every one of those doctors tried several kinds of medicines for pain treatment, none of which worked, without some side effect, that I couldn't live with. All of those doctors suggested that I follow a good exercise program to help with my pain. I asked each one of them to find a doctor of my age , that had my pain symptoms, to submit their exercise program, and that I would follow it exactly as they did. Not one of those programs have ever been found, or passed on to me.
I hate to say this, but in today's society, when doctors are compelled to have more employes devoted to the management of their income, and to protect them from malpractice law suits, than they have to see to the needs of their patients, and we don't want the side effects of the medicines available We'll just have to live with the pain, until doctors develop more suitable standards. That's just my opinion.

Nov 10th I had all my upper teeth removed and 5 implants installed. Doc gave me 20, 325/5 hydrocodone and said when they were gone use a single ibuprofen and a single acetaminophen every 3 hours.

Recovery was painful and I used all the pain pills in 4 days and switched to the ibu/act mix. They were just as effective and I used them for another 3 or 4 days. The sutures were removed after 10 days and the pain pretty much disappeared.

These days a lot of folks are struggling with health issues that they already would have died from 100 years ago. Even though they are not miracle workers, modern medicine has been a God send to my wife who suffers from Parkinson's Disease.

Well the switch to Advil didn't work today, about an hour after my second dose today after lunch I about doubled over with chest pain at work. Back to the Tylenol tonight, it was nice not to have foot and leg pain for a couple of hours.

I need to retire and get out of those dang work boots and off the concrete and steel.

I broke both ankles 10 years ago, one kneecap 4 years ago, upper arm in three pieces 2 years ago and my kneecap again last year. Each time they gave me Oxy. I took it for one day and switched to Advil or Tylenol. Kept the Oxy. I read that Oxy was selling on the Black Market for $65 per tab. With all the automatic renewals I got, I figured I could have paid off my student debts (2 years of college and 2 years of grad school!). We were good and flushed them!

BTW: Broke my nose last week=Advil only!

You aren't supposed to flush them. There are take back programs and drop boxes for disposal.

Truly tragic, bordering on sadistic. But we gotta have rules.............. Joe
