News this morning announced a xway shooting last night in Chicago. When the morons start the rolling shooting range stuff like this the state police shut the xway down for hours picking up cases and mapping trajectories. The victim in this case was a state/city vehicle designed to assist motorists in disabled vehicles. Large vehicle and driver was unhurt. What struck me was news blurb included the fact that this was shooting 113 on Chicago's xways this year.

The amount of incidents that go unreported could easily double, as in many cases, all the actors involved are from the same cut and generally not inclined to call the police.

Any motorist minding their own business in Chicago is open game, the odds increase by the type of car you are driving, the neighborhood.
The amazing thing now is that time is not a factor, these events occur 24/7.

When the morons pull this stuff not only do they usually kill a few other morons which is fine but they shut down interstate commerce for 4-5 hours, make shipments late, and make thousands late for work. Usually morons shoot from a stolen hijacked car making insurance rates skyrocket. Nobody in power positions care, cause they're protecting morons.

Just saw that a girl from our town was shot and killed while driving to work as a nurse in ICU at a hospital in Nashville. Happened at 6 in the morning on an interstate I believe. If a random act I bet they will do it again, if an acquaintance, they may have a better chance of catching up with them. Either way, hell will be too good for whoever did this evil deed.

Do not worry, there are police enough to be your individual 24/7 bodyguards.

I've seen the politicos from the Chicago area actually blame Indiana for their gun troubles. Hmm. Indiana has more reasonable laws and little gun crime. Chi-town has draconian laws and it's a shooting gallery.

Time wounds all heels

We had a freeway/interstate shooting a couple days ago here in St Louis. Apparently a road rage incident and a completely innocent young woman was shot and killed in the crossfire. As of yesterday they had a possible suspect in custody. Sickening to see this stuff happening.

I think I am going to check into buy one of the Humvees the Army is decommissioning for when I have to drive south of the Big Mac bridge.

In Memphis I think it is up to 70 something so far this year just on the interstate (40 / 240 loop). I commute across Memphis to get to work, it does keep your head on a swivel.
Annual homicide record was broken back in September too.

It's a good idea to stay out of Chicago. I was born and raised there and only go when I have no choice. Don't let anyone tell you this crime only happens in certain areas. There is no place in Chicago where you are safe from being a crime victim.

Sure feels like it on the two days a year I want to go fast on a freeway.

Late 2003-early 2004 Columbus, Ohio had a multi incident freeway shooter. I got a call from relative that was Col. PD CSSU (like CSI) on the task force. They gad several vehicles with bullet "Dents" but no bullet trace! We talked it over and realized it was not what they thought: Wooded bullet training ammo.

Turns out the profiler had it down to a tee! Mid-late 20's male lives with mom, mentally unbalanced. When arrested at the Airport in Lost Wages, he complain the freeway noise interrupted his sleep. He was using a cheap 25ACP! Didn't hit trucks hard enough to leave jacket trace? How did he kill one motorist? My advice, treat that one as a separate homicide, that used the freeway shooter as cover (evidence shows different gun!)

I was getting calls from several states wanting my wife and I to get out of town undercover of darkness and come stay with them! But the shooter was in the same area on the SE outerbelt over 25 miles from our daily lives. But caused quite a stir for 3 months!

Last rolling gun battle I had anything to do with was at the apartments I owned. over 120 shots (all 9mm), 3 different complexes, 8 cars shot up bad, but not one drop of blood! I was finding bullet holes in the second story for two years (Until the complex sold in 8/2006! Sixth happiest day of my life, after wedding and 4 kids born!)

Broke through the 300 on the annual homicide number this weekend.

Memphis schools still haven't gone back, basically has left the inner city kids on the streets 24/7. Carjackings and theft overall is also through the roof.

Downtown is back worse now than it was 20 years ago when I started working down there. None of the business crowd is there during they day and they are keeping 201 Poplar dumped out due to covid with very little police presence. I go into my office and stay there until I leave. Carrying a G19 with a G43 for backup. It sucks. I had a dude that 201 dumped out break into my business over the weekend a couple of months ago. He hid out in there during the Monday when we returned in a vacant office. I didn't discover him until a little after 3 in the afternoon. I hear a noise and when I turned a corner there he was. Drew my pistol and ducked back around the corner for cover. Called 911 and while I was on the phone I heard him run out of our back door. Took them over an hour to get there. He had dropped his ID and I found his other **** in the vacant office. The police didn't even take the stuff (including the ID) and said he'd probably be back just call them if I saw him.

It is getting like that here in Minneapolis. I heard on the radio this morning that carjackings are up 500% since the George Floyd peaceful protests last summer.

In West Memphis I was about 50 yards from this idiot that emptied his 40 into the car right next to him that had a 6 year old in it. 15 rounds and he got one hit on the driver. I guess holding your piece sideways doesn't help accuracy.
