Thanks for posting this. I went to Graceland back in the 1990s. That was my birthday present to myself that year.

There was a BBQ restaurant in Hattiesburg,Ms. that Elvis took a liking to. I was a curb hop there when I was 13-14 and one night Elvis and his crew came in just as we were closing. We locked the doors and fed them after hiding their cars in the back parking lot. He was very likable and left me a $50.00 tip, which at that time was more than I made all week. I also got to see him perform in a high school gym when I was about 10. He was just starting to take off. I saw his gun collection at Graceland. The one I remembered was a 2 1/2" model 19. I'm 73 now.

There are a couple of his pistols on display in the rear of Graceland. I recall one is a 1911 .45 and the other a short barrelled S&W revolver. Maybe the one you mention?
And he used the old smokehouse as a firing range.

Some people say that January 8 is the birthday of Jack the Ripper. We are having a special dinner to celebrate that occasion. Grilled steak, corn on the cob, my niece's special mashed potatoes, my son's salad, and a bottle of Il Brunone Chianti Classico Riserva 2011. Then my niece's cheese cake.

I remember the .45 pretty well. I think one grip had an "E" on it and the other grip had a "P" on it. They might have been blue in a turquoise stone pattern. I don't think "Blue Stone Grips" would have made an exciting song title.
The tour I was on went to that firing range too.
[Please excuse any errors in a 25 year old memory]
