Default taking to the streets

Did some food shopping yesterday and saw that the stock of coffee was low. TP I can make due without but if I run out of coffee I am going to take to the streets with a pitchfork and a torch. Somethings a old fart like me can't live with out and coffee is one of them.

No coffee is a bad start to the day. And can lead to a very bumpy day for all involved.

My wife and I have been buying more than our normal amount of non perishable stuff. Not only are supply lines unstable, but it's winter and big snow storm can close the roads for days at a time.

Keep in mind that most cities are only three days from running out of food.

I've never learned to like coffee, even after 26 years in the military, I still don't like it. My beverage of choice is caffeine-free diet soda.

Can we get a Boo Hiss button

Na, I was a bit older when I picked up the coffee habit. Some people never do. For me and the wife no coffee would probably result in a domestic abuse charge for one or the other/. Again joke, maybe? Wee keep a pretty good reserve stock.

That’s cause the Air Force is all cuppuccinos and frappes. The other services just drink black coffee made in unwashed pots from unwashed cups. Real coffee.

My mom remembered the depression and also was my cub scout leader.

Side note. As a little girl my mom remembered men coming to the back door of their farm house looking for food with nothing but the dirty stinky clothes on their back. Mom said even then, they would not take food for free. They insisted on working for it.

Not many in this day and age will abide by us older folks rules to live by. Younger generations have no respect except for what they perceive to be their own rules for themselves and not what you and I see them to be

I use to think that about coffee myself but quit cold turkey in August and I don't miss it at all.

I never drank coffee until I retired and had time to sit and read and drink coffee. I drank Coke for years until I got away from it and settled on diet Mountain Dew. I try to limit my Dew habit to one case a month but it is hard to do sometimes.

I started drinking coffee about age 15, and have never slowed down. I hate to think of the thousands of gallons I have drunk over the last 64 years.

Well. Allow me to retort.

My mid-80s Castle AFB mug has never seen cappuccino or frappes. It has seen plenty’o hot black (occasionally vicious) coffee brewed in the dark of the wee early hours, when the wing XO, the wing king and a handful of other early risers were waiting for Mr Coffee to do its thing. Guess which 2nd Lt was the “barista”? Washing? 😂 Would merely delay the process. Careers are made (and lost) of such things; that, and the unfailing 0530 wakeup.🥱
