Welcome to the forum! That's good shooting, I would be shivering so bad I couldn't hit the snow, lol. Have you seen this guy with his 929 1000 yard shot? He shoots fast too! Seeing your picture and being 44 magnum, I think it would be a 629 instead of a 929 which is 9mm. Of course the factory has been known to have a model marking error occassionaly.

Reloading for tat temperature can be challenging. Different powders have different temperate sensitivity. I recall one IPSC/USPSA match with the temp around 32 degrees F and the chrono showing several members not making power factor. (Keep the ammo in your pocket to keep it warm).

You are a tougher man then I. Much as I try to get to the range once a week, when the temps fall too much below freezing I take some time off. Actually it's more the wind that keeps me away in the winter. I'd rather shoot on a calm 20* F day than a windy 35* F day.

Reminds me of dear old Dad, (RIP). If he had a day off, he was at the range, weather be damned. Rain, snow, cold, didn't matter. He was tougher than I. If there was foul weather, I took a pass.

I worked outside all my life and there were many days when it was tough. Now that I'm unemployed if the weather is bad I stay by the fire or air cond. and wait on a better day. High 90s are as bad as below 32 and high wind. Larry

Good shooting! And thanks for sharing the pictures, beautiful area!

I love going to the range in the cold weather. I really don’t like shooting around other people, and the cold seems to keep folks away. I went to the range today, and it was beautiful, 28 degrees with some light snow, loved it!

Muttnord; That is pretty good group even in nice weather. A 629 is one of my favorite pistols.

I went to the range today and shot my 629-1. Love the trigger on that revolver. 30 feet standing, no rest, got my first 4 leaf clover shooting 200gr cast RNFP with Trailboss powder. Temperature was a balmy 41 F. Muttnord would probably be shooting in shorts and a T-shirt up here.

Your picture reminds me of hunting in a snowstorm. Sitting in the pines after a few hours I looked like that frozen guy on Jeremiah Johnson movie.
Back then I loved it. I was also logging in this kind of weather. I always had hot coffee and donuts in the truck.

Looks like fun. I didn't get to shoot on the range...but I did miss a standing coyote at about a hundred feet with my Wilson Combat 45. But it was snowing and blowing at the time. I musta got a few snowflakes in my eye. Not as cold as where you are yet. Pretty area where you are. Welcome to the Forum..and nice shooting.

That is good shooting in any weather! You have found yourself a nice gun. As others have stated some powders don’t ignite the same in colder weather vs warmer weather. I also live in a colder climate 35 miles (approximately 55 kilometers) south of Quebec, Canada and know what it’s like to shoot in really cold weather. Enjoy that revolver!

Do you think there’s a delay with some powders in cold temps?

Too cold for me. I get cold any time it's below about 60F - 70 if the wind's blowing.
