Default UNBELIEVABLE War museum - must see!

A friend sent me this link for a war museum near Colorado Springs. Detailed coverage with functional artifacts from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. The guy who owns it must be a billionaire to afford the many things in it. You will be amazed - I guarantee it. Go to full screen and turn up the sound.

John

Never seen anything like that, absolutely incredible! That must be an enormous building. He certainly didn't get all that in a spare bedroom. And I gotta wonder how many years it took to accumulate all that and get it set up.

The detail is astonishing. The complete uniforms complete with medals. Just amazing!

Yup, it’s as amazing as it looks. Mel and his daughter do tours only on Wednesdays and Sundays in the warmer months, and there are always around 75 attendees each day. It is truly one of the finest military museums extant and he curated all the items and built the displays himself – truly a labor of love.

The whole compound where this is located and on which he lives is over the top as well. Motocross tracks, paintball facilities, shooting ranges – he’s living the dream! His annual machine gun shoot is not to be missed either.

If you’re ever in the area, you must see this museum.

I've never had any particular plans or desire to visit any place in Colorado but a chance to see something like this might just get me headed that-a-way come summer time.

Since I am more or less local, I have seen Dragonman's museum written up more than a few times. I haven't been in, but am sure it is worth the effort.

While you are there DO NOT visit the gun range. I hesitate to use the term "free fire zone" and the RO's do try to keep things under control, but you will see a long line of untrained people at maybe 25 stations (separated by...nothing), with people lined up behind waiting for an empty slot, blasting away at 3-5 yards on B-28 targets. Sometimes the targets get shot, sometimes your target gets shot, sometimes we don't know. muzzles everywhere. Never again.

I’m quite familiar with him and his place. I’ll leave it at you couldn’t pay me to go back. Do some research on him and you’ll find some “interesting” history.

Hey walkin jack, I feel the same about Texas, especially since my ex bought a second home in Corpus Christie LOL.

WOW.

Besides every thing else, he's got some really nice vintage Coca-Cola machines and other Coke related stuff.

I drive past Dragonman's every day going to/from work. He has some of his armored vehicles parked behind a fence at the intersection of Hwy 94 and Curtis Road. He rotates which ones are there. Right now, it's an M47 and M-113.
