Hope all is well wherever this finds you. I just wanted to share something with the group that I think you will get 'mileage' out of.

Years ago, many local hardware stores offered free calendars (other businesses too) that had a picture of a man hunting and his dogs or any number of topics.

They usually had great graphics for the time and the local general stores contact info. The interesting thing is that even in good condition, locally, these can be found for $ 100.00 or less. Buy a cheap frame at Wally World and you're all set.

Awful lot of history for not a lot of money. The local examples I have are Pre-WW2. It took a few years looking for them, but if you don't care they are local, you can find them on 'the popular auction sites'.

It really is a trip back in time when I look at my calendar and it is January 1939.

I think these are overlooked treasures and a fine addition to any household or man/woman cave. Hope this has been of interest. Kind regards, TH.

I have a copy of a Remington advertising poster in which the outdoorsman is tangled in a pile of driftwood. His model 8 Remington is wrapped around a branch. He is using a Remington knife to frantically cut the sling as a large grizzly is looming over him. The interesting thing about this is, the frame was built for it from one of the cribs, from our local house of ill repute.

Default Old rulers

I love the old graphics from those days. Another inexpensive item to collect is old advertising rulers. I like the ones with no area code and especially ones with letter prefixes. Its interesting to look up the street address and see if its still there. I guess i miss the things of my youth.
