Mr. Larson is simply a national treasure. If anyone exemplifies the idea that "laughter is the best medicine", it's him.
Not long ago he "went digital" and launched an offical website.
The Far Side®

As I have posted in the past, I would love to be locked in a bar with Gary Larson, Bill Watterson and Berkeley Breathed.

LOL, have the “ Rat Hole”Tee shirt and a coffee cup with” Dial a Cat”. Daughter gave me his 2 volume set for Christmas about 10 years ago. My office walls were covered with cut out Far Side cartoons in the 90’s. Many people in the company found excuses to “ visit” my office when nothing needed fixing.
This could really Start a Very Long thread……

I have done it often. Quite annoying.

The Far Side is my favorite cartoon. There are several Far Side cartoons tacked up over my desk at work. I’ve got all the books, plus at least a half dozen coffee mugs. Nothing beats the warped mind of Gary Larson.
Making 2021 a truly great year they brought back the Far Side page a day calendar. Work is much more tolerable with that calendar on my desk.

Gary Larson is a genius! And what's great is when it takes people time to figure out what's funny! I don't know which is funnier! Every morning the first thing I look at on my computer is Dilbert then The Far Side. It's a great way to start one's day.
Larson with his biological (and sometimes edging on the sick and demented MAD Magazine type) knowledge has an endless supply of material to work with.
The scientific community especially appreciates his humor. They actually named a new-found life form after him! (Some kind of microscopic louse, if I remember right).
One of his "sicker" panels that was never presented to the public daily papers was the picture of the snake with its head and tail sticking out of each end of a playpen and couldn't get out because of the big bulge in its stomach!
Pure Genius!

Yes, very sick. And the publishers did a correct job not releasing it.
All & all, most of Larsen's work is just plain funny!

And Larsen's work comes from afar. Afar back into his brain where no human should attempt to enter.
Darnit, ACORN, you hit my Happy Nerves! Love me some Far Side!!!

An Amish guy I know who lives in Wyoming, but was going to be at the local Amish horse and buggy sale called me up and we meet there for breakfast then wen looking at horses. There was some Norwegian Fjord horse there. A real short draft horse that looks similar to those in the cartoon.
Here is one of my favorites

What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians? A drummer.
How do you get a musician off your porch? Pay for the pizza.
Why do bagpipe players walk while they play? To get away from the noise.
There, that should cover everybody!

The one in my files is dated Feb., 2016; I might have got from your post. (I have spells of liking bluegerass, too, so I won't have been one of those with ruffled feathers.)

How can you tell when a Soprano is on your porch? Can't find the key and doesn't know when to come in.
Fixed it for ya.

Gary Larson retired in 1995 but he Was my favorite. He does have a protégé in Chad carpenter, with the tundra cartoons
Google Image Result
Chad was a neighbor Of mine in Alaska in the 80’s and mostly focuses on Alaska but he has the same twisted mind that Gary has.

Your wish is my command and somewhere there are many years of calendars and smaller books.

Many years ago while bow hunting, my wife shot a nice boar. He was completely white, except for one 3" black spot directly over his heart.
Her arrow was sticking right in the center of the black spot. Forever after, he has been known as the " bummer of a birthmark" hog.
