Default New home for a the old car

I had plans but they never came around, to getting it back into shape, over the years.

Finally my wife's brother told me that he might be interrested in
buying it from me for a "Winter prodject" for something to do.

The other day, he and his wife drove back to Reno but this time
with a large flat bed trailer hooked onto his pickum up truck,
instead of the Cadi.

It was loaded up on Saturday and on Sunday one of his daughters and her husband and four kids,
joined us for an early meal, before they hit the highway for their return to Greenwich Utah.

Looks like good things are finally in store for the old car.
It will be nice to hear that flat head six, turn over again, one of these days, when we visit.

My F-I-L has a 53 Chevy convertible (maybe a Bel-Air) about half done. The original engine is all done, but his wife decided that the convertible needed to scoot a little faster, so a Corvette ZR-1 motor sits new in the crate waiting for installation! (That ought to scoot!)

I'm going to venture a guess that the old gal was kept inside? Sure looks like a good one to start with. Get him to make a video of the start up, I'd like to hear it too! LOL!

Am I seeing a blue door on the driver side? Maybe just a glare........

Either way, cool old car. You're gonna miss it........

A friend of mine bought a '48 Dodge back about 1975. It ran, but had what my dad called "the Dodge death rattle". When my buddy pulled the engine apart, every piston in that flathead six had at least one broken ring! Not sure why it even ran!

Once he got it back together, the "death rattle" was gone. The car had a three speed manual transmission with a torque converter. You could put it in 3rd gear, dump the clutch and it would creep away! It was even slower than my '52 Buick Super that had a straight eight, hooked to a Dynaflow tranny.

Oh, my!! That brings back memories. My first car was a black, 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Club Coupe, with a 323 1/2 cubic inch straight eight, 4 speed fluid drive. I found out years after selling it that only around 5000 were ever made. What a tank!!
