Hi:
Discovered a new "Gander Mountain" Store in
area today. Impressive Firearms Department.
Ammo prices astronomical!! Firearm prices seems high but I am not up to date on Firearm prices.
Did not observe any used Firearms but could have missed them as I looked at the Ammo first.

I have been told that the Gander Mountain nearby cleans out WalMart when they get an ammo shipment and then re-sell it at a HUGE markup.

That's probably a rumor. Gander Mountain has a direct pipeline to ATK, the same as Walmart does. Since they price their ammo high, they don't do nearly the turnover either, hence still have things in stock.

This one I hadn't heard but wouldn't surprise me. Our GM here had some of the first batch of P6's but at a much higher price than anywhere else.

In Texarkana, our Goose Hill usually has quite a selection of used guns. A buddy of mine found a real nice 1961 vintage Colt .357 there for $495 a few months ago. So, you might find a decent deal on a used gun once in a while. I just shake my head when I see the ammo prices. Right now, they have a nickel 6" Model 27 for I think 750. The grips look a little odd to me, it may be a "Classic" or something. I didn't look at it.

I have had good luck with used guns at the local GM.
Pump shotguns are often good buys and I've found one Smith M19, a Ruger Blackhawk .357/9mm and a couple of .32 ACP auto pistols at reasonable prices.
They will deal on used guns at the local store.

About a month ago I found 1,000 CCI B4 rifle primers at a G.M. about 60 miles away. I asked the guy to save them and some powder for me, and I would drive down the following Sunday to pick them up. When I got there, he had sold them to someone who came in asking for them. I e-mailed G.M. and blew off a little steam, to which I got a reply and apology from the store manager. He assured me that it would never happen again, and went so far as telling me that he would get me what I wanted, discount the price 25% and send them to me free shipping. After getting 2,000 primers for around $70, I'm no longer angry

A recent GM ad offered a particular model shotgun for a SALE price that was $50 higher than the regular price at my regular shop for the last couple of months. (both new in box)

I agree their prices are pretty high on guns and ammo. But, in their defense, it was the only place in town that had any Remington "FBI load" .38 +P ammo.

In Dec. we were in Denver area, and went looking for primers and bullets. Sportsman's Warehouse was all out of stock on literally everything. Gander Mountain had shelves overflowing with everything. Then I looked at the prices and saw why. I had just picked up some 243 brass (Winchester) a week earlier at a local shop not known for having the best prices, but fair prices at $21.00 (50 rounds). Gander Mountain wanted $39.95 for the same bag of brass. Then I looked at 70 grain Nosler ballistic tip bullets (250), which I get from Midway for about $42.00. Gander Mountain wanted $63.99. It's easy to see why they had such a great selection in stock.

I visited a Gander Mountain in my area, and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Apparently they at some point were selling sig 225/p6's and they had a used p6 magazine that said Sig Sauer on the side. They had it in a marked down case and had a barcode of $4.99! Are you kidding me. Top Gun supply sells a brand new one for around 39.95 for the 225, factory mag.and the used P6 magazines if you can find them like on Gunbroker etc. are all of $40.00 or more. I wouldn't use the aftermarket ones, I've heard to many negatives even though I can't say personaly to the quality and functions of one. As for Gander Mountain I Thankyou for the Deal-Keep em' comin'!
