Got Snow? or getting snow?
Appears the winter storm currently in the upper midwest will be affecting a large part of the middle south and east.
Here in the northern reaches of NW Iowa currently have 5-6" on the ground, looking at a total of as much as 12. And wind is starting up. I'm not going anywhere.
Actually this is welcome, has been dry and brown since mid December.

Luckily I’m on the rain side of the line. Hopefully no more 27 hour waits on I95, gov already declared state of emergency.

After the storm finishes dumping on you, it's supposed to give us 8-12 inches here in the western piedmont of NC, even more in the mountains, on Saturday night through Sunday evening. If that happens, it will be the biggest January snowfall in over 30 years here.
I hope the weatherman is dead wrong.

None here yet. Snow is predicted for Saturday and Sunday but I'm not taking it seriously until Jim Cantore shows up.

I just received a notice from my cable provider about possible problems when this storm hits here Monday. They talk about possible outs and what to concerning safety.
Now I live in northern NY and this is the first time I got a email like that. New email protocol or do they know something that the TV weather guessers are not talking about?

Bullseye for us. NC is going to collect some snow. Guy behind me was cutting grass this afternoon and Sunday is going to be the north pole. Ahh, winter in the South.

An official weather station 15 miles from me just reported 8.8" and it is coming down pretty steady. I'm upping my guestimate to 12+ inches by morning.

They predict 8-12 inches for us over the weekend (foothills of NC). My wife is none too pleased as I am going on a hunting trip to middle Alabama @ 0300hrs Saturday morning and she doesn't drive in snow voluntarily!

We're expecting up to 10 inches of snow. I've got our vehicles in "snow position," that is the Toyota Yaris is parked close to the garage and the 4wd truck is parked closer to the middle.
They both have full tanks.
They stay that way, 'til the snow melts enough to get the Yaris out without too much diggin'.
This is from the great blizzard of 2016. We did the same thing.

There were flurries when I left work around 1300 but not sticking to the ground. The forecast was for 2 to 5 inches in my area.

I also hope he is wrong. I want to see 18-24 inches. My 7 yr. old great grandson and I want to play in the snow. It's scandalous, unAmerican and downright aggravating to have a 4X4 truck and tractor and no snow. Larry

West central Illinois, it is just starting and the ground is just barely white. We are expected to get 3-5" here, with pockets of up to 8" possible. Was 47 degrees yesterday when we shot skeet, but doesn't look like we'll be doing that next week. Next Thurs high of 14.
Well it's a day later, and we have about 5" to 6" on the ground. Rather wet, sticking to all the trees etc. If the sun would come out it would be pretty. I stayed in all day, hopefully the streets will all be cleared off by tomorrow so we can get to church without any problems. I'm cautious as my tires are worn enough to not get a good bite on snow, but still have about 10,000 miles left. I plan to replace next fall.

Here is west central Illinois we’re to get 2 to 6 inches ….. depending on which weather-guesser you listen to. Nothing on the ground here yet.
Two weeks ago we were forecasted for 5 to 8 inches of snow. Got no snow but did get 2 or 3 inches of SLEET.

Here in central Ohio, they are saying 1-3 starting Sunday night into Monday with more the farther south of us you go. Ironic that it is going south. We really haven't had any snow to speak of so far this year. Haven't even broken out the shovel this winter. I would be fine if it hangs in the garage untouched all winter.

Maryland is always very diverse weather-wise, and we really never know what's going to happen here until it's happening; a few miles away in any direction, and the snowfall could be completely different.
The attached map shows the National Weather Service snowfall estimates for our region as of this afternoon, but all that could change by Sunday.
As someone who loves winter and snow, I'll take whatever we get and be grateful for it...

We're getting near/below zero temps here in NEPA tonight and tomorrow night plus wind chill warnings.
Not sure yet what exactly the storm is going to bring. Possibly all snow, or a mix. I would prefer all snow. Sleet and freezing rain are a PITA to deal with IMHO.
The only good news regarding that is Mrs. QD67 is off Monday due to the Federal holiday, and I can work from home with a company laptop, and plan to.

Had about two feet on the ground but is slowly melting, about a foot now. No snow predicted for a week. The melting snow is sure makeing an ice rink in my front yard, and the snow plow is broke down on the pickup. Got to figure out the wiring problem.

These idiots here in PGH are freaking out because we're supposed to get some Sunday. After 64 3/4 years on this planet, I've noticed a pattern of cold weather this time of year and SNOW! They act like the A bomb is coming! This ain't Florida. It snows every year! Geez these people are idiots. Even worse, they think the Steelers are gonna have a chance against Kansas City! I like the Steelers football, but it's over Johnny! It's Who Dey's turn to take over the AFC, along with KC. And I hope to heck Cinci wins some post season games...in the SNOW!!!

And another reason that I am glad that I relocated to South of Houston, snow here is a very rare thing, and when it does happen usually only a couple of flakes at night. And then just wait a day or two and it will be 70°. We have a blustery weekend here, on the very Southern end of the front. It will be a little chilly , in the mid 40°'s with 20 mile gusts today, supposed to be in the mid 30°'s tonight so this is about as Winter as it gets here. Next Tuesday forecast to be 73°

Got Snow? or getting snow?

Not yet, in the R.T.P. area of NC. Currently it is 40 Deg. on my front porch.
We are expecting rain and snow tonight or tomorrow morning. What is worrying me is the potential of ice accumulation that can and will take power lines down.
I picked up all the supplies I could think of and gassed the car last Thursday. I am not planing on leaving the house for a day or two.
Hope for the best for everyone.

Just a covering of snow here, but single digits and well below zero wind chills. My son and I are headed to the Bills game tonight in Buffalo. Normally I'd say I'll need an extra sweatshirt, but We'll be in a suite and unless someone opens the big sliding window, the only thing cold will be the beer. Now walking back to my truck and driving 75 miles in traffic and whatever mother nature wants to throw at us then might be a different story.
This is where I'd use to enjoy making a comment about the Patriots to get Labworm's goat. I know he'll be watching and most likely laughing at us trying to navigate the weather and traffic on the way home. Especially if Buffalo wins.

Thankfully the storm skirted around my area in WI, so I don’t have to deal with the much hated snow this time. We may be in a drought and need moisture, I just prefer not to have to shovel it.

It's snowing in S.W. Missouri. It's a light snow but we're in the mid 20's this morning, it's sticking on the roads. It's supposed to last until about 2 or 3 this afternoon. We might get a little above freezing then so, hopefully, the roads clear up some. Tomorrow will be colder, I hope we don't have icy roads.

Take it easy on the brewskies, and DON'T let your Bills take it easy on the Pats! Things are changing in the AFC. Nothing has really changed in the weather for this time of year! Go Bills! Go Bengals! (Those last 2 words have never come outta my mouth, unless we needed them to beat the Patriots.) Sunday night is going to be hard to watch around here. Most of these local yinzer sports talking heads are lying through their teeth when they say Steelers can beat the Chiefs, and a lot of locals are sucking it in.
Yay! Snow!!!

I live in the Switzerland of Ohio. We usually do double or nothing. Either the storm will miss us or it will be waste deep. It has been several years since we had a really big one. Couple times the National Guard had to come dig us out.
People are nuts. Down in valley they are mobbing the stores ( paying )
Happens everytime the news says it’s going to snow. Lucky for us we have weather people on TV that tell you it’s cold outside and you should wear a coat.

I hate the snow! I'm in no shape to shovel much anymore. People here drive way too fast for conditions and probably 10% of them are driving stolen cars and another 25% with no insurance.
The very same snow that falls here today will still be here in late Feb as frozen black slush. Snow..Bah humbug what's to like.

Weatherman are like fisherman. Take the prediction and take away 30%.
Last week, they predicted 6-8”. We got 1…barely2”. Almost didn’t use the snow blower.
But it is great for the grocery stores

I eat lucky charms for breakfast, and check the bowl with litmus paper before eating.
My little dog Snarlface hates the snow also.
We dint git much snow but grocery stores are packed. Notice how dog food is disappearing from store shelves. Comes the great famine our pets will be the only ones to survive.

Little dogs hate snow that is deeper than they can lift their leg. When snow reaches this depth, Lucky Charms ain’t safe.

Go Bills! Sorry Mr Worm.
And Raiders too.
