My dad used mostly #9 and sewing machine oil with great success.
Re the above video; he seems to have put a lot of time, effort and thought into it. I know he had to pack a lot of info into a short span so as to not bore the viewer but he kinda reminds me of someone...

One thing this test didn't or couldn't to is assess long term staying power of the lubricant. From my observation it seemed that Break Free evaporated from the metal less than other lubricants I used. Your mileage may vary.
One unique use I have found for Break Free is for threaded objects, particularly spark plugs and light bulbs. I put a visible amount of Break Free in the threads and it makes the light bulbs and spark plugs go in and come out a lot easier.

I've used CLP for mass years, and never had a problem.
I bet Hoppe's 9 to clean, and Mobil 1 would be as good as anything made.

I have tried a lot of different products over the years but I somehow always end up returning to Break Free CLP.

Makes me glad I've been using Break-Free for 40 years, with some Hoppe's just for cleaning.
