It was only a couple of days ago that Louie went into the hospital for "cancer treatment". I never figured he was at death's door. He had such a great comic imagination and delivery.
Meat Loaf was also very creative in his music and stage persona.
2 great entertainers gone too early.
Hopefully that rule of threes goes by gross weight. We might just pass with those 2, um...."husky" gents. May they RIP.

This is terrible, but I honestly thought Louie died years ago.
I did hear about Meat Loaf on the news today.
So sad, feel for both families.

You may be thinking of John Pinette, far funnier than Louis, IMO.

Louie used to be pretty funny, but the last several years the only thing I saw that he did was the cross-dressing bit where he played Zack Galifianakis's mother in that sitcom. Turned me off to him completely.
Still RIP Louie.

I knew who he was, but I'm not really familiar with his work.
All the same, condolences to his family.

Anderson was funny early on but after that he was not funny and mean.
He was not only anti gun but when he had a microphone he was downright mean about hunters and gun owners.

Betty White didn't make it to 2022. She died just before the end of 2021.

Saw Louie Anderson one night , in the mid-80s, in LA, at The Comedy Store. Louie was a big fella. He was the MC that night (it was an off night, like a Sunday, or Monday night), and came out on stage to kick things off. He walked up to the mic stand, pauses for a few moments, then very deliberately takes hold of the mic stand and moves it off to the side, and then looks at the crowd and says in his impish/boyish voice, “can you see me now...? Hilarious!
Sam Kinison, not on the card that night, came out and did a set. He was awesome! Fun night.
Meatloaf played at my college auditorium, also back in the 80s. I was part of the student ‘security’ team that night. I still had a cast on my left hand due to a surgery I had to have on a finger. Well, I was to the side of the stage when a drunken student runs out and begins to climb up on the stage! He had one foot swung up on the stage and was trying to pull himself up onto the stage. I run over to him and grabbed him, with my one good hand, by the back of the collar and flung him down to the door. Two other security guys get to us and they grab him. We hustle this kid to a side exit door. I opened the door and they threw him right over the railing, off a set of stairs onto the ground. I closed the door...
Meatloaf put on a great show, very intense, and good music. He had these cute backup singers, with black mini skirts. I dubbed them the loafettes...
Those were the days.
