Tabasco #9
As I was heading out the door to the shop I noticed that my wife had put a depleted Tabasco bottle out for recycling. I grabbed it on my way out, but then had a thought...
Bad idea?

Now that is what America smells and tastes like. Just add a glass bottle of Coke and you have the trifecta.
Tabasco always comes in glass, and Coca-Cola tastes better in glass. It seems to me that Hoppe's was always better in glass bottles too. Then again I never tasted it!

My wife always has a bottle hot sauce in her purse. Another reason I love her.

If I'm not mistaken, Tabasco #9 was the inspiration for this song:

You're right about glass; beer, Coke, and even carbonated water taste much better from a glass container.

Tobacco Sauce
Just be sure to take the label off and mark it as Hoppe’s. Thee have been
instances where people have been injured from ingesting a poison from a food or beverage container. Willyboy

I do also, except it is not Tabasco brand, instead normally Cholula or the local HEB generic hot sauce which is identical to Cholula and considerably cheaper. Those are thicker, Tabasco is too runny for me.

This thread reminds me that I am reaching my end of the cleaning concoction I used to get from a guy in Cincinnati. Now I need to find a suitable replacement. I will admit to being the odd man out, but I don't like Hoppes - it stinks and is pretty ineffective as a cleaner.

I learn something new everyday. I will stick with glass though. I don't even really care for the large glass bottles of Tabasco. The plastic stopper makes the sauce come out too fast. In the original two ounce bottle, the glass tapers to allow a perfectly sized amount to drop out!

We're fans of Valentina sauce. I recently bought some Tabasco sauce to spread on the doors because our Yorkie obsessively licks the doors for some reason. So far it's stopped her cold.

The vinegar is why is prefer Tabasco! But Crystal and Louisiana are great as well. Unlike Tabasco, those use cayenne peppers.
I can always tell when a movie or television show is filmed in Louisiana, as all three of those bottles will be seen in the background or on a table simultaneously. Bonus points if you spot a shaker of Chachere's; even more if a bottle of Jack Miller's is present!

Just the aroma of Tabasco sauce makes me sick to my stomach. One time back in the late 70's some lads on the ship I was stationed on, put about a half bottle of Tabasco sauce in the bowl of chili I was going to eat. I had gotten up from the table to get some crackers. They had a bet that I wouldn't eat the chili. They lost. It was the first time I didn't get sick from eating Tabasco sauce.
