Default Måneskin

I am a 61 year old guy who likes many different kinds of music. I listen to country music the most now, but also like southern rockand some blues and jazz too. Saturday night, as I was flipping through the channels, I watched some of SNL like I sometimes do, and happened to hear this young Italian group performing. I don't even know what type of music this is, but for some reason, I liked it. The rhythm of the bass had me hooked. The girl bassist was mesmerizing for some reason. I did a little googling and found that they are all in their early 20's and have been playing together for about 5 years. Kinda started as a garage band and as "buskers". Now they are playing worldwide. SNL and the Tonight Show have been their biggest introduction in the states. I think I am nuts to like them, but oh well.

They’re song “Beggin” has been getting a lot of air time on an alternative rock station up here. I’m with you.....I like em! Charismatic lead singer!

Never seen or heard them before. You're right, the bassist is attractive. They are talented, and the song is a bit hypnotic. I imagine they'll do well.

I did not care for their looks or their music. My wife; however, enjoyed the music though she couldn’t say why.

That's the other song they played on SNL.

Can't sing like Freddy and can't pull off the Boy George act. Nope.

That's the only thing I liked about them.

Well, not for me.

And, as long as we're doing unusual musical performances, how about the Leningrad Cowboy's doing Sweet Home Alabama?

Based on their name, I’d think Møneskin was Scandinavian rather than Italian. I predict a brief notoriety for them before they grow up and go straight.

Leningrad Cowboys, that’s a whole different deal. I have some of them on DVD. I probably wouldn’t listen to them much, even if I did have a DVD player.

22 seconds of that garbage was all could take. I had to immediately cleanse my ear drums with some Merle Haggard.

That was like me. I couldn't believe I was liking it.

Mary, I missed that one. I just happened to flip over to SNL after a little nap, and saw that their Weekend Update sketch was on. It is usually humorous, so I watched it, the group came on next, I think.

Jessie, I freely admit it! Funny thing is, I might never hear the group again. I definitely would not buy the CD, and I am sure it will not be played on the radio stations I listen to.

When looking on YouTube just now, it seems they won something called Eurovision 2021, and were on something called Xfactor that gained them some fame. Their name means moonlight.

If a piece of music is pleasing to your ear and moves you to a place you want to go then music has done its job. You both win.

Folks should listen to what they like and allow others the same courtesy. ✌

Couldn't understand a word of it. Of course I'm still hooked on Merle Haggard's music.

You can’t ask that question anymore.

But she was playing bass guitar.
