I too did an awful lot of farm work. Most for pay...picking cotton was just a life lesson...which I DID learn. Hoe'd tobacco too. ...for a year milked cows in the afternoon after school. Another not so fun job...but helped pay for cars and gas. Became a barber worked at that for 2 years or so...inside job but not my favorite work. The job I liked the most was working on the water crabbing fishing and oystering. HARD work and not much future...but I was outside and working for myself.

Hmm. That's a fun idea, of all the jobs which did we like the most?

I'm going with lifeguard. Thirty minutes on the high rise chair under the umbrella looking down on the young ladies who came by to pass some time, then 30 minutes off lounging by the poolside...

Hard to beat that for paid work.
