I'm not Irish but I find that the Redbreast 15 is a fine beverage.

There are bonded versions of Dickel which are fine, but can't touch the 'ordinary' 12 IMO. On a side note, poster Absalom is responsible for my descent...

Another vote for Dickel 12. Nice heat going down, and easy on the wallet.

Elderberry Trees
.
I don’t mean to be, overly critical, but a couple of you folks have referred to elderberry bushes as elderberry trees. In my neck of the woods, they never attain tree size, and as to their nature, I don’t believe they ever do anywhere. Is Elderberry tree just a figure of speech?

Not a favorite but absinthe sure produced an interesting effect unlike other liquors.
Weird stuff.
Favorite used to be tequila. Still like to sniff it even though I won't drink it.

Looks like a tree to me. Or at least it once was. Was 30 feet high in it's prime.

I have been known to every now and then to take a large shot glass full of
something from Italy that has a square top, before or after a meal.

I'm glad you posted that that picture. That's the largest Elderberry bush / tree that I've ever seen. That explains why some folks call 'em trees.

Change of pace here, folks; I am a rummy. Bacardi silver, just a dash or two in a glass with Coca-Cola, neat.
I used to do a lot of bourbon and whiskey, but I must be a little Native American-- or it's the colored alcohol that gets me.
I gave up beer over two years ago because of bladder cancer.

Mostly enjoy wine, especially when I’m cooking. Wine is liquid flavor and I use it to enhance my meals.
Gin and tonic or a Bloody Mary on rare occasion.
Working nights, I use to have a Gin and tonic before I went to bed. I found a single drink did aid in my relaxation. After retirement I found it less necessary.

And yes on the Sinatra Select, I was hesitant to purchase a bottle due to the price. But about 3 years ago I tried a pour (or 2!) at a high end Nashville hotel bar. The sign said $20 but when the bartender rang it up $38! He honored the $20 price, so I had 3. Purchased a bottle soon after.
My different summer drink is Key Lime Rum and cranberry juice with a twist of lime. Local bar calls it Sexy Parrot.

My kids usually get the Sinatra Select as my standard birthday, father's day or Christmas present. I do drink it only on special occasions with special friends who can appreciate the difference. Just too expensive as a daily drinker - but I do really like it!
There are a few others like Michter's, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Wild Turkey 101, Bib & Tucker, Elijah Craig, Larceny, Woodford's Reserve, Eagle Rare, Jack Daniels Single Barrel, etc. etc. that are currently in my cabinet.
Wine - maybe 3 - 4 glasses a year
Beer - maybe a dozen bottles a year
