I regret to imform you fellow members that my Father has past. After such a long illness and knowing that it was comming I still hurt very much and miss him already.

I've been there, BIG DOG. You have my prayers. Mine has been gone 25 years and I still miss him. I can tell you that the good memories you have of your father won't dim over the years.

It's been ten years since I had to say goodbye to my father. Rarely a day goes by that I do not think about him. Your biggest gift to him will be to keep his memory alive and go forth in life with the lessons that you have learned from him.

I've been there. I lost mine May 19, 2001 while I was at the NRA annual convention in Kansas City.

Very sorry to hear that news. I know what it is like. My father died about a week before my ninth birthday.

I am now 45 but still wish I knew him better.

Its been 20 years now for me, and I still value what my dad taught me.

Prayers and sincere condolences to you, Big Dog. Time will ease the pain in this life, and many of us belive in an afterlife, where you will be reunited with your dear father.

It'll be 9 years come November for me.
Just this weekend I used plumbing talents he taught me. The week before, electric. The week before that, well, you get the idea?
In most cases, they taught us how to be men. That's not something easily forgotten, nor should it be.

Prayers inbound.

That day is coming for me as well. My Dad is only 62 and is already in poor health. I keep trying to get him to understand that his assets should be used to extend his life and make his time left better for him. He is so concerned about leaving an inheritance... I would give up any inheritance to have him with us for one more day. Be strong and as others have said, honor him by keeping his memory alive.

My dad died two years ago, he was 87. I still think about him all the time. You never stop missing your dad.

I am sorry for your loss. You & yours are in my prayers.

Lost my Mom last July after her long and very painful battle with cancer. I often wish I could give her just one more hug. Someday I will.

We are now looking after my Dad who has
Deminta. We found a good assisted living home near where I live.

Remember the good times you had, and pray that God will be with you during your time of sorrow.

Sorry for your loss. No matter how long you know it's going to happen it still hurts. The hurt gets less after a while but it always seems to show up at unexpected times. The funny thing is when it does show up it will be a sight, smell or some activity that reminds me of Dad. The hurt is there but it makes me smile because of the memories he has given me. Sort of bitter sweet.

Those of us who can say dad was our best friend are rich indeed. I know many that, unfortunately, never had that kind of relationship. More's the pity.

Mine's been gone 3 years now and though I can't bring him back I can go to where he is. Miss him every day.

May God's love and the memories of your father give you some small amount of comfort at this time.

I'm sorry for your loss, BIG DOG.

I lost my Father two years ago. Not a day will go bye that you don't think about him.

Hang in there. Remember the times you had with him and all of the things he taught you.
