ALL RIGHT... It was quick, easy, and painless using my credit card through PayPal to make a donation and become a silver member.

I've never used PayPal and have no intention of joining their site...However I would like to contribute something out of my measly SS stipend...Is there an instructional somewhere on how to use my credit card through PayPal?...I'm too lazy to search for it myself, but if someone will point the way, I'll get it done... ...Ben

It is easy.
Just click Donations in the top nav bar, choose your donation level, and enter the amount in the little box at lower right, and click "Order".
Click the button that comes up for PayPal.
When PayPal opens, just keep making every selection as a "Guest" and they will walk you through it.
NO instructions needed.
Thanks!

Silver Contribution Incoming
I joined at the silver level earlier this week. It was way overdue, as I have benefited from this fine site since joining a few years ago. And, I mean it when I say, “I have benefited from the moment I joined.” I’ve gleaned an immeasurable amount knowledge and assistance from the generous, enthusiastic members here.
What a great group of people!
Becoming a contributing member is not asking too much. I also would be thrilled if Lee squeaked out any amount of profit! He deserves it and I thank him for letting me stick around.
I hope to continually support this most-excellent-of-all-gun-forums in the years to come!

The Smith & Wesson forum doesn't run on air. An exception might be the "Lounge" which runs on a lot of hot air. I see a lot of long time members who never contribute. I see a lot of people that ride this forum from dawn till dusk because it's entertaining and informative. I am currently not buying any guns cause I'm somewhat financially lacking. But I still have enough money to cough up I think? a "bronze" membership which is now about the same layout as a down payment on a gumball.
So save your teeth and dentures, don't buy said gumball and pay up to support the forum.

This is the best place to get information about all things S&W!
I also like to read commentary of like-minded members and even get a laugh every once in a while.
I stop by everyday, so I just re-upped using PP and it was easy-peasy.
ETA: Thanks for the reminder.

Not a math wizard for sure, but the amount of time on on this forum Vs what I donate comes out to a small number.
At my age and lifestyle I most certainly have been there done it, got the tee shirt and ball cap. Now retired 21 years so like Casper the friendly ghost I haunt this forum (lounge) a bit. -
Started shooting at about age 9 so I also get into some more serious gun and gear discussions at times.
I will also add my thanks to Lee and the mods that donate so much of their time to make this the best forum on the internet.
PS if you are on this forum a bit and enjoy it, be a donator, its well worth it!

When I considered going platinum I considered what could I get for $200.00 that would even come close to bringing me as much entertainment, fellowship with the best cyber-family going, information on just about any subject, and constant, consistent access to all the above.
I quickly realized the answer to my question. NOTHING.

I've been here 20 years now and "skated" for many of them. Darn if I don't feel guilty about that now. To paraphrase an old SNL "character" .... "Forum been berry berry gude to me" .... And in MANY more ways than the one that may come to mind first !

I’m amazed there are forum members who will shell out thousands for a fancy euro pistol, but can’t even spare a few dollars to support the forum.

People that tell you Lee is making money here are the same people that tell you you will save money reloading ammunition.

I received something from an organization I deal with that might put this in perspective. On occasion I use the services this organization provides. It does make a request for donations every year. As I believe I owe it something for the services I receive, I have sent in a small ($10) donation for the last few years. And the suprising message in thanks i received essentialliy said that if everyone who used its services just matched my contribution, its fundraising for the year would be over.
I guess what this organization was trying to say was that a little bit from a lot of people produces a lot.

Everyone, I understand that Money can be funny, for many right now. I also believe that $30.00 a year is pocket change, at best. We love having you here, but please donate to the forum. Donate or not I'm still happy to see ya-all here.

I wonder if it wouldn't be useful for management to set up a reminder system 30 days prior to renewal time or an automatic deduct from a credit card, etc. I have a feeling that I'm not the only one that has serious memory issues.
...Just my mind doing a little wandering between moments of confusion.

The forum has no direct ties to CC companies, hence the use of PayPal which has no annual renewal option. You could mark it on your calendar, or if you use a smart phone, put it on your phone's calendar with a note to remind you.

Jack, when I'm not sure when my level expires I click on "donations" at the top of the page and see my renewal date.
