My wife killed the batteries in the camera taking pictures of our son (he now has a giant foam hammer, battle axe and flail to play with), thus no photos for now.

Imbel gear logo receiver as imported by Pacific Ord and mostly S. African parts (save for the obligatory U.S. compliance parts). I wanted a replacement for my Century FrankenFAL. Not quite a DSA, but... eh better.

I violated my own usual advice and ended up getting a carbine this time around. This one has a 14" barrel with the flash hider permanently attached to bring it up over 16". That actually makes it surprisingly handy though it'll probably light up like a fireball and be nice and deafening. On the plus side, despite the velocity loss from the shorter barrel, it'll still poke .30 caliber holes. Seems lighter and handier than the SA M1A Socoms that I've handled, so I'm satisfied.

I was lucky that it came with two of the now impossible to find DSA 30rd FAL mags, four 20s, and two battle packs of S. African ball ammo. Didn't really need the 20s, but eh, always nice to add more to my mammoth pile of FAL mags. One of these days I'll get a pack mule to carry them all.

It cost me an AK folder, seven mags, ammo and one of the .38s from my drawer of .38s... eh... whatcha gonna do. With even Century Franken FALs fetching a grand or so lately, it was probably about the best that I was going to do.

The FAL is probably one of my fave battle rifles #2 being an M1-A

I actually had a rare Browning marked FAL that I sold without realizing what I had.

I really should get going and assemble one of the FAL kits I've got sitting around.

Sounds like a nice snag to me. If those are the 200 rd plastic bag ,ammo paks, those guys now bring $149 at most any Show. The mags surely added some frosting to the cake too.

I have been looking at the DSA rifles...best I can do on them is in the $1600 area. Lot of money...but then again...a LOT of gun too.

Only bitch now with a .308 is feeding the damned thing! Ouch.
