Not much future for him in burglary. Oh well, at least you don't have to worry about a successful prison break from that one.

I can't imagine it is a fake. Nobody would take those kind of head-first falls just to make a phony video, would they?

The Short answer is YES their are people who would do something just this stupid just to make a video.

But, with that being said I can see it as being just what it is "One Very Dumb ***** dope head" doing his 'thing' and doing it on camera. Just look at the number of "Feature Length" films that are out there of idiots working very hard to clean up the Gene Pool by jumping off building or off cliffs etc. with a parachute on and expecting to live to brag about it. Just a couple of weeks ago one of these self proclaimed Morons managed to succeed in killing himself just for the Camera. By doing Another one of these totally stupid skiing videos where he skied off of something and one of the skis didn't come loose and he turned himself into a pinwheel and drove himself into the ground because he couldn't open his parachute! The World is better off!

As I recall, many years back a thief did this and was seriously injured in the fall. In its wisdom, the State of California, having never met a criminal they didn't coddle, mandated safety bars under skylights to prevent injury and allowed a successful suit by the criminal involved against the innocent store owner.

Pathetic!

In about 1920 my grandparents had a grocery store with their partners. One night a guy hollered from the gaspump or threw gravel at the bedroom window to wake up someone for gas. That wasnt unusual in those days. Grandpa got up and went down. Two robbers threw down on him and they went in to open the safe. Grandpas partner came down the stairs with a colt pocket auto in his hands. The robbers threw down on him too and told him to raise his hands. It so happened his wife gussie was right above him on the stairs and when heinie raised his hands gussie grabed the colt out of it, stepped down and proceeded to beat one of the robbers head with it! The other robber shot her through the arm.
The next day the sheriff had grandpa and heinie go to another town to ID a body. The same two robbers were burglaring a store and one was found shot where he was trying to climb over the transom over the door.
This happened in wisconsin. A number of years later both famileys moved to california to start a store business there. One day grandpa and heine were on a street car in los angeles and met the other robber! They got him arrested and the guy broke down to many old crimes. He claimed he accidently shot his partner that night as he or the other was climbing through the transom. I heard he got very little if any time as so many years or whatever were involved.
