The trip: Part 4-the ports, The island of Crete Greece
Well by the time we got here we were burned up, worn out and just too pooped to pop. We had been hittin' it hard every day and the brutal heat and the extreme up and down walking had just about done us in. We had tickets for a shore excursion but we turned them in. The Next day was set to be Santorini and the best of all the islands and we wanted to make sure we were up for that. As it turns out we made a wise decision but I'll get into all that in the Santorini report.
Miss Pam didn't even get off the boat. I went ashore and just fooled around on the dock and cruised the streets right in front of the dock. Some nice shops and The crowds weren't too bad. I wasn't out long. Back aboard and joined Miss Pam for a nice nap.
The first set is the view of Crete as we pulled in and on the dock from our balcony.
To be continued....

Here's a few from the dock. No idea what that 3rd pic is all about but I thought it looked cool. The last pic is Miss Pam Talking to Alex's step mom.
To be continued....

Here's a few street scenes. The last pic I'm back aboard and Miss Pam and I are enjoying a late lunch. We really needed to take a day off and as it turns out it is a very good thing we did or we would not have made it the next day. It was both the best and the worst day of the trip. We barely made it as it was. I'll talk about that in the Santorini report.

These posts have been really nice, Jack. It looks like you had a great trip in the cradle of western civilization. Something I hope to do sometime.
By the way, on this latest leg, did you form any strong opinions on the Cretins? I always thought they got a bad rap...

That third picture looks like a good design for a pocket knife blade.

Once years ago and that was enough. You can chew that stuff for an hour and it doesn't change. It's like cuttin' a chunk out of a tractor tire inner tube and tryin' to eat it.

Well, the Country acually looks like people keep it pretty clean. When iwas in Germany, it was hard to find anykind of trash on the streets--I waa amazed. Go to Switzeland--totally different than in Germany. Zurich--looked like a pig sty.
