Default Wyoming Collector Show in Riverton, WY

Today was the day for Dealer/Vendor Set up, and yesterday was the day to set up all of the tables and get them in the right position, That was not an easy job for ten old guys, even with the senior grandmas doing the supervision.
When I departed the building a few minutes ago the last of the folks were dragging their goodies in and adding the finishing touches.
Looks like we will have a full house with lots of things to look at.
So far I have seen a boat load of post WWII S&W revolvers. I am sure there were a goodly quantity of the Post 1980 autos and revolvers, but not being interested in those I haven't looked at any.
Tons of long guns of all types, lots of mil-surp, mucho ammo and components, numerous edged weapons (long and short) and only one vendor selling Scentsy, but her husband is selling guns and fieldcraft.
Thought about grabbing a M659 for table fodder to go with my M459...but it is on a FFL table and I am no longer a WY resident. Still a good deal at $400 with both mags and some ammo.
I ill be filing another report tomorrow evening.
I expect to see Wyo-man, Wyo and several other forum members tomorrow. And all others are welcome too.
Door opens at 9AM for visitors. Admission is $6 for one day, $10for the weekend and Members are free.
Bring a raincoat or umbrella if you come after noon.

Default RE: Saturday in Riverton

820 paid admission, in nice weather, No rain until after 5:30 PM.
Very sluggish sales for the size of the crowd. Most dealers suffered the same fate.
We did a hair over $1100 on 11 sales. Two pieces of Iron and the rest were misc. sales.
Did get the "GASP" when perusing factory grips and didn't sell many. But, I did not feel like being the tooth fairy and giving any away for free.
I bought a few odds and ends, but no new hardware.
Looked at several autos and discovered that they were either on the books, were the wrong caliber (.40 S&W instead of 9MM or .45 ACP) or were no longer there when I returned with $$$$. I will undertake a search and destroy mission early in the AM.
Numerous S&Ws from 1945 through 1980 in all frame configuration and finishes. Lots with all the boxes and docs, and the others with just the correct grips.
One Non-Registered Magnum located across from me. Asking price is $1300, but it has made three trips to S&W and was re-blued at least once with heavy buffing. 5" variation from 1935 tto that went to the Mississippi HP.
Letter is included, grips are very good, but I will leave it for someone else.
Lots of newer S&Ws to be had. With and without the lawyer hole.
Another installment tomorrow evening.
Got to visit with Wyo-Man, Wyo, Two-bit Cowboy and several others today. It was great seeing all of them again.

Good luck tomorrow! What are they selling the metal M&P 2.0's for if they have any?

Look at that Mississippi Highway Patrol revolver again. MHP had their first academy in 1937 and their first shipment of duty revolvers was a lot of 50 registered magnums sent to nearby Camp Shelby,Ms., just south of Hattiesburg, where they had their very first training before being organized into a state police force. MHP carried 5" N frame .357's (RM, Pre 27, or 27's) until they transitioned to bottom feeders in the 80's. David Carroll had one of the RM's a few years ago.

Default Riverton Sunday FINALE

Ended up selling two and buying two. Also sold some grips, holsters, USGI tableware, magazines and other odds and ends.
I bought a well used and buffed Non Registered Magnum 5" for $1300 with a factory letter. Hoping that my local smith can work magic on the over buffed markings with his laser engraver. I was impressed with the results on a 1911 Colt slide that they re-worked including the Pony I already know what some are thinking about restoring the Logo and other washed out legends. The damage is already done, and I just want to restore things for my benefit and not anyone else.
I also picked up a (new to me) Walther PPK/s in .22 LR, It is the new model produced after they parted ways with S&W. The only thing missing was the MSRP and being the first to pop a cap.
We did a total of $1764 in sales with a total attendance of over 1,000 over both days.
While the sales did not break any records it was still very enjoyable seeing folks we know from the area and seeing fellow vendors we have known for years. It was well worth the drive from Alabama.
We prepaid our tables again for 2024 and will make our 2024 room reservations tomorrow when we check out.
Even two-bit cowboy had a good time and flipped two pieces and obtained a M37 with the Peruvian Crest from the early 1980s. He even got the box and all or the goodies with it.
We hope that everybody also had a decent weekend.

Always a fun show. Lots of laughs and just plain fun.

Great to see Deb & Thom, as ever.

You'll see the Peruvian 37 on the 1981 - xx forum.

Looking forward to Glendale and next year in Riverton.
