Poll... How do you get your news or entertainment?
How much or how little do you need to satisfy your desires outside of your everyday Life?
I cut the cord many years ago. I use an OTA antenna for TV and DSL from the phone company for internet service.
I screwed up where you only have one vote even though you might use multiple choices.

Very few have voted yet. Why not delete it and start over? We can tell from the poll results whether we six have voted yet (ones own vote in italics).

Some of us still read a newspaper also, and an AM radio.

No MSM local or national comes through these eyes and ears. It’s all alternative media.

Basically, none of the above.
Local radio, XM radio, local newspaper, national newspaper.
I have a smart TV and a firestick that I use very seldom.
Lots of music on CD and vinyl. Lots of book to read.
Lots of free local music events.
I do read a lot of online news but always consider the source.

Funny I saw this post. I was at the post office last week and saw a guy getting a newspaper from a vending machine. I did a double take and realized I never notice the machine even being there.

I didn't find an option that seemed to fit me either. I read two national lefty newspapers for national and international news, watch the local Fox TV station for local news, read the Google news aggregation, and watch YouTube news clips from broadcast news channels, and read (mostly Kindle) books, watch Amazon Prime and Netflix, and spend quite a lot of time on this forum for entertainment.

I would still be reading a newspaper if delivery hadn’t become so sketchy. Used to be if you didn’t get your paper, the supervisor would bring you one and read the delivery person the riot act. It became we’ll credit your account. Couldn’t get it through their heads that what I wanted was my paper. Now they’re even messing up the online version. For entertainment I still love my Directv.

I have access to fiber optics satellite tv, numerous streaming services and ludicrous speed WiFi so my options are many. I haven't watched any network or cable news in years. I trust the Babylon Bee more.

I voted other because my wife tells me what is going on. With all of the fake news, one-sided stories, out and out lying, opinions - not news, etc. going on, I don't bother wasting my time on that garbage called news.

Only news worth getting is courthouse gossip. I get that from my wife.
Until the tanks start rolling down the street, I think I'm better off just not knowing-lot less stress that way

News or Entertainment.....
What's the difference, any more. The media is incapable of reporting facts without hyping that they were first on the scene, or have the only/best system, or interjecting their opinion, or hanging you out there with nibblets of information to keep you coming back for their next report. They can make a 15 minute report out of the fact that they don't have any facts yet.

The "News" and "Journalism" died many years ago. Today its a cross between entertainment and leftist indoctrination.
I haven't watched the national news in five years and my blood pressure thanks me. I watched the local news for the weather and over the past year I've noticed that the local left wing propaganda outlet even politicizes the weather AND it's about as accurate as their "reporting." (i.e. BS lies).

I don't have television in any form.
I have a ton of movies on DVDs for entertainment.
I get my news from Facebook because its constantly fact checked so I know I can trust it.

Should be able to vote on more than one.
We get newspapers, antenna tv, cable tv.
Only use cellphone for calls on the rare occasion that it's turned on.

I would need an 80' antenna to clear the hill for broadcast TV. I do get a PBS channel over air. I have no telephone line to the house, nor would they run one for data only. I get a local internet with a radio receiving device. Roku TV through that.
For news, I volunteer at the library once a week and usually catch up on all I need through the patrons. I also get a local weekly paper. I am blessed during election years to have a county emergency radio station that plays oldies and has a 60 second local happening ever 30 minutes. Grandkids, 15 and 14 yr old live with us and they get the school vibes.

Hate to tell ya sparky, but there is plenty of far right nonsense floating around out there too.
The problem is that you cannot believe ANYONE anymore. Like I said, I'll just wait until the tanks come and see what decals they are wearing and go from there. I find lots of mind numbing drivel to entertain me on Netflix and Youtube. Also I've discovered "the Grateful Dead channel" on Sirrus (channel 23). Does wonders sitting out in the back yard under the Oaks drinking whisky while listening to old Dead music. For a change, I'll spin up some New Riders of the Purple Sage or some Who.
And if I make it to 70 and retirement, not subjected to those pesky drug tests there is a good chance that I will be regularly sparking up a fat boy in the back yard. It works for Willie-it ought to do just fine by me.

Entertainment: I watch very little television, maybe a couple of hours a week.
News: I just don't abide much in the news and my disposition in life has improved significantly. I figure things are in the Lord's hands anyway.

Two questions in my opinion.
We cut the cable cord 18 years ago but have the internet for Netflix etc. and then watch local news via free antenna .

I get 80+ channels over antenna including 5 local stations, 5 versions of PBS where I watch the BBC and German news reports for national/world events. WGN does a decent job of national news. Grit, Movies and multiple classic TV channels. Cable internet gives me access to this font of information. Radio for weather and traffic. My hometown weekly paper for obits and police/court.

My internet comes through fiber optic.
For news, I look at a bunch of sources on the internet, more overseas than stateside.
For indoors entertainment, I do hobbies like computer games, build scale models, and if so inclined, watch DVDs.
For music, I stream an oldies station (hard cut off at '82) out of Omaha in the afternoon, then either CDs or stream one of the local Christian music stations at night.

I cut myself off from news, periodicals, etc years ago…..I honestly don’t care what goes on in the real world. I see updates on this site relative to who has passed on and whatever else makes it to this website…but I don’t actively seek to know what is going on in the world. Y’all will let me know when the end is near.
