20 some years ago I was working in my 1st gunshop.

On a regular basis I had to run errands for the owner, including taking the days deposits to the bank. As a habit on days I had to go to the bank I carried a PPK/S 380. Now back in those days I was bad to "Mexican" carry a gun...just stuff it the waistband of my jeans.

One particular day I had to stop off at the pharmacy at Wal-Mart for a prescription for the boss on the way back from the bank.
Well as typical the scrip wasnt ready when I got there so I had about a 15min wait. Somehow, unbeknownst to me that Walther had slid down my waistband to the point is was sliding down my pant leg.
Now mind you there I was with a batch of bluehaired women at the pharmacy counter. I know I got some looks as I was doing the Elvis leg wiggle trying to get that gun to slide into the top of my cowboy boot...it didnt work. That gun slid out of the bottom of my pant leg and about 2 feet across the floor.
Those old women looked down at it and up at me 3-4 times.
Well I composed myself and walked over to pick it up, the women watching my every move. Picked the gun up, stuck it back in my wasteband and reassured the women "It was alright, I am with Security", got my scrip and left. Guess it helps to be a quick thinker.

I had the very same thing happen to me in '97, only I was in a strip joint. I had a neighbor girl that worked their, and she regularly asked me to give her rides home after her shift.
The door man knew me and would let me in a few minutes before shift change, with no cover charge. I would stand just inside the door behind the bar, waiting on her to get out of there. One night my PPK slid right down my pants leg and onto the floor. I just bent down picked it up, slipped it into my pocket and walked out the door. Told the bouncer to tell her I'm waiting in the car. Ruined a good thing there.
